A Vampire's Kiss and Touch of Revenge

I'm A Survivor

After all the commotion that had gone on today, I decided I would head to the game room and shoot some pool to kill time. I really didn’t want to go shopping with Erelin tomorrow. Everything was just weighing in on my mind from all the events that has happened this week.

I had already found Patrick in his study with Jenny earlier right after Brendon and Ryan’s fight occurred. They were inseparable, pausing only briefly for me to wish them congrats on their engagement. I didn’t bother to stay long and chat because they seemed so anxious to celebrate being off alone. However, I did tell them what had happened with Brendon this morning and thanked them for helping him not turn into toast.

As I set up the balls on the pool table into the holder I got to thinking about things. I have had to give up so many things that I have loved over the past few years that it wasn’t right. I wanted a change in my life. I wanted to go back to the old free spirited me.

I wanted to get back into my swimming and I used to be into art. I used to do drawings and paintings for my art classes I took in college. And speaking of college I still needed to withdraw from my classes. So much has happened to me that it was starting to take its toll on me.

I have always been a survivor of things and a fighter but I have slowly been stripped and broken down away from the things I love and who I used to be. I lost Colin a long time ago. I really did love him at one time and I have lost my mother. And to find out that your dad is a vampire and may have played a role in her death is almost too much to handle.

Luckily, I have Pete here who makes me smile. I know I have him to lean on. What was first his way of getting revenge by kidnapping me and wanting to use me as a way to get to my dad, has turned into friendship. I am not held captive here but rather I am safely protected from my father. I choose to be here. I am glad I am here.

I sense that just as Pete is here for me to talk to which I haven’t exactly told him everything about me yet, I am here for him too whether he knows it or not. I have changed him just as he has changed me in a way. His persona has changed about who I am and I know he sees me as someone I want to become. I want to be the strong person I used to be but it is hard right now.

The night Pete saw me swim as fast as I could in the pool he told me I should stick to my swimming. It was something I did because I loved the sport but gave up after mom died. Maybe Pete was right. I shouldn’t give up on the things I love. I also had to give up volunteering at the hospital for the kids. I’ve had to give up a lot and now I think I have decided that no more will I give up anything in my life.

I shot some pool after I had set up the table and smiled. I had my friends here and they were all family to me. And I had a great guy who I was taking things slow with who may be a vampire but that was ok. It didn’t hurt that he has become a big distraction for me. He has the looks, the moves, the smile, and a complicated personality at times but whatever. He defiantly had my attention and I loved it.

I was about to take my next shot when I felt two arms wrap themselves around me then turn me around. Pete had snuck in behind me and I didn’t notice him because I had been lost in my thoughts. He then kissed me, leaning me into the pool table.
I pulled my head back a bit and smiled. Someone couldn’t wait another hour or two to see me. I ducked down and got away from him laughing as I ran to the opposite side of the pool table he was on.

“I thought I told someone they had to wait until it was time for our date to see me.” I said grinning.

“How was I to know you would be in here? It’s a big house you know and I can’t stay locked in my room forever.” He said giving me a wicked smile.

“And by the way I find you very sexy right now and the perfume adds a touch to where it is driving me even crazier than I already am.” He said trying to get closer to me but I would run to the other side of the table.

“Is that so?” I asked.

“What? Can I help the boy in me is really turned on right now? I am still a guy you know.” He said looking very fine especially with the killer eyeliner that was bringing out his eyes at this moment. If there was one guy who could pull off wearing eyeliner it was Pete and well, ok, Brendon when he had it on the other night. But that was beside the point.

I decided I was going to try to make him catch me so I ran to the side closer to the door with Pete still on the other side of the table trying to anticipate my next move. I looked over to the door then bolted. “Catch me if you can!” I said running out of the room and down the hall to the stairs. Vampires were supposed to be fast so I wanted to see how long it would take Pete to catch me.

As I ran to the stairs Pete was gaining on me. I flew down the stairs to see Pete jump over the balcony upstairs and land a few feet away from me on his feet. Wow! I was impressed. I turned and ran into the living room area and ran into the room where they played as a band. I wasn’t watching where I was going and ran smack dab into Ryan who grabbed me with a smirk.

“I’m sorry, Ryan.” I said as he let go of me. I wondered why he was in this room.

“I have you now!” Pete said stopping right behind me and noticing Ryan standing in front of me. “Ryan, what are you doing here?” Pete asked.

“I was bored so I was checking out your instruments in here. Erelin had showed me around and I wanted to know what was in this room because she left it off.

“It’s not nice to snoop.” I said eyeing him.

“There are some nice guitars and such you have here, Pete.” Ryan said ignoring me.

“Thanks but those over there are Patrick’s and Joe’s. That right there on this side of the wall is my collection of basses.” Pete said pointing.

“I used to be in a band at one time too.” Ryan said.

“Well, you are more than welcome to pick up something and play anytime you want.” Pete said being nice. It wasn’t like him because I thought he didn’t like Ryan either.

“Thanks, man.” Ryan said walking back into the living room.

“No problem.” Pete replied. I gave Pete a look and elbowed him. “Hey, what was that for?” He asked.

“Why are you being so nice to him for? What is your motive?” I asked.

“I could tell he likes music. Maybe it will help him be a better person and if I get on his good side I have more dirt on him to give to Brendon.” Pete said holding me now that he had me.

“Oh.” I said giggling as Pete kissed my neck and tickled me.

“Now, I have you.” Pete said as I turned around to face him. I placed my arms around his neck as he had his hands placed on my sides.

“Yes, you do.” I replied leaning in for a long passionate kiss.

“So, are you ready for our date?” He asked with his head resting on mine.

“Are you kidding? I’ve been ready.” I said.

“Then I believe you will need this.” Pete said taking out a box from his pocket.

“Pete, what is it?” I asked surprised.

“Open it. You will see.” He replied handing me the box.
