BTD 18

" It's been hours," I whispered to Emily as I looked out the window at the
sunset.

She nodded, coming to stand beside me.
" A couple years back, we had a problem with this one vampire, Victoria, who was
creating more vamps, and the boys went out to help the Cullens with it. They
were gone forever it seemed. "

I turned to her," The cullens?"
She frowned," Oh,uhm, they're the local variety vampires. "

My eyes bugged out. " They help Vamps!!! I thought they were sworn enemies." I
asked confused.
She nodded.

" Supposedly they're different. They only feed off of animals, not humans. But
they're good people. The leader is a doctor...he helped you."

I collapsed into the couch," Holy Shit."

She giggled and then there was an awkward silence.

" I swore to myself I would never ask you this..." Emily started off, getting my
attention. I looked to her confused," What was the final straw? What was the
thing that finally pushed you into leaving?"

I sighed, brushing the hair out of my face.

" There was one night, where dad was totally hammered, and mom was home. He was
being pushy like always, screaming at us. Mom looked at me with this face I'll
never forget," my voice got real small," She said,'this is all your fault you
know. He only got angry after you were born. I should have gotten rid of you
when I had the chance.' and it finally clicked, what the hell am I doing here?!
So I called up the man from the record label and told him I was coming. I packed
up...and left. "

Em was silent.
It was dark now I realized as I looked out the window.

" It was mom?" she squeaked.

I nodded," It was mom."
