I'm Coming Out! Chapter 1

I gave my dad a nice long hug as soon as I saw him.
“Nice to have you home,” he said after kissing my cheek. I could hear the smile in his voice.
I slowly
I pulled away from my father and smiled at him.
It’s been ages since I’ve seen my father and his new family. After my parents divorce I stayed with my mom. She recently passed away in a terrible car accident. I had only minor injuries.
So, now I have to move down south to live with my dad, step mom and step brother in Florida.
I didn’t mind it that much. We all get along pretty well. The only part that sucks is that I have to go to a new school leaving all my friends behind.
My dad helped my carry my things to his car as we talked. He told about how things were going for him and all that jazz. I did the same until we reached the house.
“Wow,” I muttered. “It’s bigger than I remember,”
My mom and I lived in an apartment together. It was small and cozy.
My dad chuckled as my older brother Andy ran out of the house. “Nevaeh!” he called.
“Andy!” I yelled as we embraced each other.
“I missed you terribly,” he said spinning me around.
“I know! Our emails are not enough!” I said as he put me back on my feet.
“Miss California yet?” he asked.
“No, once you start snoring I will,” I joked.
“Ha, ha,” he said dryly.
“How about you unpack then catch up?” he dad said walking past us with his hand full of my stuff.
Andy and I smiled and walked over to the trunk of the car.
“So, what’s up with the pink?” he asked gently pulling my long blond hair with pink highlights.
I shrugged and looked over at him. “Why not?”
“Good point,” Andy said as we picked up a box and walked inside.
After an hour, I had unpacked and settled in.
Currently, Andy and I were on my bed laughing and talking.
He told me all about his, soon to be our, high school and how ‘wonderful’ it is.
“So, does your dad know yet?” Andy asked.
“No,” I said looking at my hands.
“You have to tell him some time,”
“Yeah, but it’s best if he’s oblivious,”
“I guess,” he said unsure.
“How about this, when I get a girlfriend that I’m serious about I’ll tell him,”
“Fine,” Andy said and we shook on it.
“The guys are going to be all over you through,” he said.
I rolled me eyes. “What else is new?”
He chuckled. “Once you stop looking like Avril Lavine, that will change,”
I laughed with him. “Then how will I pick up chicks?”
“You can hang out with me,”
“So I can look at hot straight girls? Thanks but no thanks,”
“You’re lost,”
“Kids,” Andy’s mom, Gloria, said walking in my room. “Bed time, school tomorrow,”
“Right,” we said as she closed the door.
Andy and I hugged each other and kissed each other’s cheeks.
“Good night,”
“You too, have fun tomorrow,” he tested.
I pushed me out and got ready for bed.
Tomorrow was a busy day.
