Words came easily to Edward Caine, it was always a surprise when he stood silent, stupefied and tongue-tied. That’s how he was at the hanging of Teddy Clements. He was speechless as he watched Teddy’s feet kick around desperately until the life drained out of every last inch of his cold body.
