So Far Away

It wasn’t long before the rest of the boys walked in. They kept all conversation light and happy. After about an hour, they finally started asking questions.

“So when are they gonna let you out?” Matt asked,
“I think tonight., hopefully.” I said with a soft smile. It was quiet for a few moments before Brian spoke up.

“Ali, can I talk to you? Privately?” He looked around the room. I smiled and nodded before the boys left.
Brian pulled up a chair and sat next to the bed. I stared at y hands while I waited for him to talk.

“I just want to say I’m really sorry. I don’t know why I acted like that. I didn’t want all of this to happen. Please forgive me.”
I sighed and looked up at Brian.

“We’re both just awful today, aren’t we?” I smiled at him. “If Val is nice enough o forgive me, then I can forgive you.” I smiled as Brian hugged me, said thank you and told me he was going to send Zacky in.

Zack walked in and sat down in the chair next to the bed. I couldn’t help but blush and get all flustered when he held my hand. “You don’t have to tell me what happened right now, but I do want you to tell me eventually.” He said softly.
I looked at him and saw the heart break in his eyes. I knew it would only hurt him more if I kept it from him.

“I can tell you know.” I said with a half smile.
I told Zacky everything that happened. He was holding on to my hand tightly and had a mix of sadness and anger in his eye. When I was done telling him what happened, he hugged me.
“When they let you out, how about we go back to the house and have a nice, quiet, normal night?” He laughed lightly.
“That sounds great.”

When they finally released me from the hospital I said good bye to the boys and Zacky took me back to his place.
Ichabod and Majesty were there to greet us as soon as we walked in to the house.

“How does dinner and a movie sound?” Zacky asked as he walked in to the kitchen.
“Dinner and a movie? Zachary Baker is this a date?” I asked teasingly.
“C’mon, we barley know each other. I just want to give you a nice relaxing night. Everything’s been so hectic lately.” He explained.
“Alright, I’ll buy it.” I said with a smile. I sat down at the table and watched Zacky cook. Once dinner was done we went in to the living room to eat and watch a movie. I only made it through about half the movie before I fell asleep on his shoulder.
