KD
opened door to check on HM.
HM was sat in corner of the room in foetal position.
KD approached cautiously.
HM asked who she was.
KD replied with rank and full name. She then requested HM’s.
HM did not answer.
KD insisted on a reply.
HM asked what PC stood for.
KD replied impatiently that it stood for police constable.
HM looked scared and asked where her mother was.
KD told HM that if she gave her a name, it may help.
HM gave her name as Harriet.
KD asked HM for her surname.
HM told her that her surname was Morton and then requested her mother again.
KD asked HM how old she was.
HM responded that she was nine.
KD asked what HM’s mother’s name was.
HM told her that she didn’t know, except that it began with a C.
KD recorded information on notepad.
HM continued to persist in asking for mother, then asked where she was.
KD told HM she was in a police station.
HM asked why.
KD turned to leave.
HM asked KD if she was going to find her mother.
KD did not answer.
HM repeated her question.
KD ignored her question and left room, closing door.
KD then heard frantic banging on door, accompanied by inaudible wailing.
KD called WH and then proceeded to open door.
HM was found crying uncontrollably and screaming for her mother.
KD asked HM to calm down.
WH reiterated KD’s comment.
HM continued to cry.
KD took HM’s hand and led her to the bed.
KD and HM sat down.
KD continued to attempt to comfort HM, saying that they would try and find her mother.
HM slowly became calmer but was still saying that she wanted her mother now.
KD handed WH her notebook containing information.
WH left the room quickly.
KD remained with HM until sufficiently calm.
HM pleaded with KD to find her mother now.
KD told HM that she would.
KD left HM on her bed and left the room.

Additional Notes:

PC Karen Davies would like to make it known that she found the situation extremely distressing to deal with. As a mother of two children herself, she feels the need to add that seeing a grown woman act wholly like a young child, in the belief that they are indeed one, was both unnerving and uncomfortable. She has therefore requested that the medical records of Elysia Adinall, Arielle Goldsmith, Marise Lamford and Harriet Morton are looked into as soon as possible in order to find any possible information as to why she may be acting in this way.
