Chapter 9 (Sam's P.O.V.)

I walked inside, shut the door and leaned against it. I sighed. That was the most fun I have had since 2nd grade. I know that seems very pathetic, but, remember, I truely had no friends. But I think I've broken that spell in my life, because Trevor seems like a friend.

Right then my mom came running up to me and hugged me. "SAM!! Where WERE you? I looked in your bed and you weren't there! I- I thought something happened to you. I was about to call the police when you came in!"

I said, "Mom, I left a note on the kitchen counter saying that I was going for a walk."

I walked into the kitchen and picked up the notepad. My mom just stared at it. "Oh. I-I guess I didn't look there." She looked tired and confused, but I couldn't blame her. She probably was at the hospital all night signing papers and crying.

I went upstairs and realized that I didn't get Trevor's phone number or his screenname. So I really hoped that I would bump into him at school again. I plopped onto my bed, thinking about my unusually eventful half-day. I smiled. For once in my life, I was looking forward to Monday...
