Try Being In My Shoes

11

I woke up gently but kept my eyes shut. I heard a loud ringing in my ears as I propped myself up onto my forearms before I felt two hands grasp onto my shoulders and shake me vigorously.

"What were you thinking? Frank are you an idiot?!" Came Gerard's voice. I groaned loudly as he let me go ad shoved me against the concrete. I kept my eyes tightly shut, suppressing tiny tears as my side ached and I curled into myself.

All fell silent and I couldn't sense any movement as I forced my lids open a fraction before shutting them again as sunlight blinded me. I pressed my eyes tightly together once more before fluttering them open to see the brightest sky of the season. Clear blue. The dewy grass was swaying lightly in the breeze yet everything around where I was lay was grey.

"It's.. day?" my voice croaked.

"Yeah, well done dumbass. You stayed out here all night. Through the rain. Once again, well done, Frank." It was then that I noticed I was slightly sticky and half of my hair was stuck to my face. I'd slept through this?

I got up slowly through the seeping pain and limped over to the back door. I feebly pushed the door open and shivered as I made my way up the stairs. What even happened? How did I get there?

After finally getting up the ever-growing, wooden staircase I settled on the top step. Still shivering even though it wasn't cold. As I crouched over a sudden pain chorused throughout my chest. I cried out in pain as I pushed myself backwards. I gritted my teeth to stop myself from making any more noise as I squirmed, gripping my own waist.

I heard hurried footsteps rushing through the house and up the stairs before his shaddowed figure towered over me.

His soft voice attempted to calm me but it didn't help. I only felt the pain grow stronger and I suddenly felt it getting harder to breath as I inhaled deep, heavy breaths.

"Frank, it's okay, I'm here. Where does it hurt?"

"Everywhere!"
