Time With Jacob

*JACOB'S POV*
I watched Lizzy walk through the kitchen door. She had such confidence when she walked that again I wondered how she and Bella could be related. The only similarity to how they walked was the lack of grace. Lizzy stumbled over the threshold but righted herself quickly.
"Well someone's happy," Bella said.
I turned back to her and realized that I'd been smiling. "What? Now you can tell emotions like that blo- Jasper?" Bella was so sensitive about me making fun of her leeches.
"No," she answered simply. She smiled innocently, another difference between her and her twin. "I can just read you as easily as you can read me. I've seen the way you look at her. I know you're in love with my sister."
Talk about déjà vu. "Do you two share a brain or something?"
She tilted her head in confusion and I saw how beautiful she was. Definitely a girl worth fighting for. But, was I still fighting for her? Yeah, I think I was. "What are you talking about?"
"You and Lizzy. She said the same thing to me."
"Huh. Maybe it's some twin telepathy. We're on the same wave length on some things." She said it sarcastically but part of me was wondering if she was right.
"You know, you might be right. There is something wrong with your brain and it might just be that you share with your twin," I teased.
She laughed and pushed me playfully. "Oh shut up. Hey, Jake? Why were you so interested in helping Lizzy? Other than the obvious.”
Bella was definitely smart. I peeked back into the woods. "Quil and Embry are out in the woods close by. They might have caught a scent and I don't want either of you in there by yourselves."
She nodded in understanding. I knew that the forest held bad memories for Bella and she wouldn't go in. But I wasn't so sure about Lizzy. "I'll see you later, Bells," I said giving her a hug and kissing her forehead. She hugged me back but wrinkled her nose from the kiss.
"Yes!" I yelled in excitement when I got into my Rabbit. I was going to get to be alone with Lizzy.

*LIZZY'S POV*
My dad was gone by 6:30. The second his cruiser was out of the driveway, I hopped in the shower and started getting ready. I pulled my hair up and pinned back my bangs. Bella was still asleep when I went outside at ten ‘til seven. I jumped when a large hand landed on my shoulder. I turned to see Jacob's bare chest. I looked up at his face and he was smirking. Asshole.
"What the hell? You just gave me a heart attack! Can't you make some noise or something?"
"Sorry, Liz. I didn't mean to scare you."
I glared at him. "Don't let it happen again. Next time, I'll take this wrench and use your head as a piñata."
He laughed and my knees were actually a little weak. What the hell? "Promise. You could probably kick my ass, anyway."
"See, Jacob, that's where you're wrong. There's no probably. It's more like definitely."
We spent that entire day and most of Sunday working. I tried fixing my motorcycle every day after school instead of doing homework. My grades were starting to slip drastically, especially history. Oh, well; I had my priorities and school honestly wasn’t on the list.
"Yes!" I screamed after school on Wednesday. I was covered head to toe in thick black oil but I really couldn’t have cared less.
"Wow, you look happy. Never thought I'd see that." Jacob leaned up against a nearby tree. Again, he was shirtless. I still couldn't get over how muscled he was. It took everything I had not to stare. Like I said, I'm a sucker for abs and his were freakin’ amazing. Good thing he doesn't know that.
"Just finished my bike. Wanna take it for a ride?"
"Sure," he said smiling. "And it just so happens I brought mine today. Let's go."
We raced down the highway. I was always just ahead of Jacob. He smirked as he passed me. I leaned forward over my handlebars and pushed the speed faster. Just a few yards away, I could see train tracks and heard the horn blowing. I went faster, Jacob shooting me worried glances.
"Lizzy, we have to stop!" he shouted.
I ignored him and burst on the other side of the tracks with him right behind me seconds before the train would have hit us. I landed on my front tire and flipped over the handle bars. I did a wicked face plant and the bike landed behind me; I was lucky it didn’t flip over on top of me. Jacob rushed to my side and I was laughing hysterically.
"Liz! Are you okay?"
"I'm-haha- fine! That was so-ha- fun!"
"Are you crazy?" he screamed
"No," I replied instantly sober. I stood up and he was staring at my head. I touched my temple gingerly and my hand was covered in blood when it pulled away.
"Come on. My house is just down the road," Jacob sighed. He pushed both of the bikes, I don’t know how he did that considering how heavy they were, and I kept my hand pressed against my forehead. He kept glancing worriedly at me but I tried to ignore him.
We went along the dirt road. He stopped at a small, one story house. There were two metal sheds that had been made into one big one. The whole place was surrounded by green and I smell the ocean nearby. "This is so cool," I gasped.
Jacob shrugged. "It's nice, I guess. Too small, but cozy."
He parked the bikes near the woods. Jacob grabbed my hand and pulled me into the house. His description was perfect: small but cozy. "Jake? Is that you?" Billy called wheeling himself in.
"Yeah. Lizzy and I are just going to be here for a second."
Billy smiled warmly at me. I gave him a small smile in return and nodded a greeting. Jacob pulled me into a little room at the end of the hall. There was a tiny bed that was unmade and clothes lay on the floor, most of it torn. "Nice room," I commented a little sarcastically.
"Thanks," he replied, digging in his closet for something. He came out holding a first aid kit. The first thing he pulled out was peroxide. I groaned and a small smile appeared on Jacob's face. He put some peroxide on a cotton ball and reached toward me. I immediately pulled back. "Come on, Lizzy. I have to put some of this stuff on so your cut doesn't get infected.
"I don't need any of that crap."
"Will you stop being so childish?"
I stuck my tongue out. I guess that might've proven his point. "No. That shit stings like hell. I don't want any of it touching my head."
"You don't mind cutting yourself but a little rubbing alcohol and you cower away?"
"Funny. Glad I amuse you," I snapped.
Jacob rolled his eyes. "You Swan girls. Why do you always get hurt? It's no wonder Charlie doesn't want you on motorcycles.
I stared into his brown eyes with confusion. "What do you mean?"
He looked right back. "Bella didn't tell you about her motorcycle? She got two of them at the beginning of the year, one for her and one for me. I guess someone was just giving the away so we fixed them up and kept them."
"Bella on a motorcycle?” I gaped. “There's no way. She's too much of a goodie-good."
"She actually got good at it. She was always falling and getting hurt, though. That's why I kept this stuff in here. Almost every time she came by I would end up having to take her to the hospital and we'd have to make up excuses so Charlie wouldn't find out."
"Huh. I never would have thought."
"So what's the excuse for you?"
"Oh, I'm blaming this all on you. I'm gonna tell Charlie that you pushed me into the road and I skinned myself on the pavement. You're like freakishly strong so he'll probably believe it."
"Oh, come on. Charlie's gonna kill me if you tell him that."
I laughed. "Fine. How about I just cover it with my bangs? Then no one ever has to know."
"Deal."
"Oh, and Jacob?" I elbowed him in the ribs. "That's for not taking better care of Bella on a motorcycle. How you could let her get back on one after taking her to the hospital so many times is beyond me."

*JACOB'S POV*
"How you could let her get back on one after taking her to the hospital so many times is beyond me."
I finished putting the band-aid on Lizzy's forehead and she fixed her hair to cover it. It pained me that she was hurt but I didn’t know what to do. I’d given Bella whatever she wanted while her bloodsucker was away because I was trying to win her over. I knew I shouldn't ever have let Bella back on a bike after that first day, but I loved spending time with her too much. Now I was faced with a problem. I knew that Lizzy loved riding and wasn't going to willingly give that up. So should I give her what she wanted and let her ride, even at the risk of her getting hurt? Or not allow her to ride and her possibly hate me?
