Vampires, Werewolves, and... Love? Oh My!

It had to have been a dream. There's no way that a wolf could turn into Jacob. I was just drunk and seeing things. Please, God, tell me that I imagined it all. I wasn't drunk enough to have a hangover but I could've been drunk enough to have been hallucinating. I mean, it wouldn’t have the first time. I was gripping that thought as if my life depended on it.
I could feel the cool washcloth pressed onto my forehead and a hot hand stroking back my hair. I let my eyelids flutter open and saw that I was in the living room on the couch. The room was packed with Edward, Jasper, Alice, Bella, and three of the La Push boys. Jacob's face was only inches away from my own. I started to smile until I remembered what had happened. "Shit!" I yelled, scrambling up to sit on the arm rest. "You, you stay the hell away from me!" My heart was beating a million miles a minute and it was pretty safe to say that I was having a panic attack.
"Lizzy, calm down," Alice said.
"Don't you dare tell me to calm down! You have no idea what's going through my head right now."
"Actually, I do," Edward said calmly. "Emma's up in your room, by the way." WTF?! How could he know that I was thinking that?
"Liz, can you please just listen to Jake for two seconds?" Bella begged.
I glared at her, seriously debating whether or not to kick her ass. If anyone else had asked me, I would've cussed them out and stormed out of the room. But since it was Bella, I had to give Jacob a shot. "You've got sixty seconds." I plopped on the couch with my arms crossed over my chest.
He looked nervous but took a deep breath and launched into his story. "Legends say that the Quileutes are descended from wolves. That's kinda true. Wolves are our brothers and we become werewolves if there are vampires around. That man in the woods was a vampire that was going to kill you and your friend. And..." He trailed off. Like he couldn't tell me.
"And we're vampires, too," Alice finished for him.
I raised my eyebrows and snorted. "No. You're all a bunch of liars. There's no flippin' way. There's no such thing as werewolves or vampires or anything else like that."
"See, Bella? That's how you were supposed to react," Edward said playfully.
I rounded on my sister. "You actually believe this crap? C'mon, Bells. You know this is bull. I'll prove it." In one quick movement I pulled pocket knife from my shoe and it sliced across my collar bone. Okay, that shit hurt.
The three Cullens quickly covered their mouths and noses. The Quileutes jumped in front of me and Bella and started growling. Bella gasped and turned to me. "Holy crow! Are you really that suicidal?!"
"Y-you mean that you were... serious?" I gulped, which only made the blood flow more quickly down my throat.
"Of course we were," my twin snapped. "Why the hell would we lie to you about this?"
I collapsed back onto the couch. "Oh my God. This isn't happening. Okay. Say for like a second I believed you. Can someone please explain everything 'cause I'm really freaking out here."
"First come with me so we can get you a little cleaned up. Then when we come back we'll explain everything. To you and Emma." She smiled knowingly. There was something else that she was hiding from me.
Em was awake when we went up. Her eyes landed on the jagged cut across my collar bone and she started laugh. I shot her the bird while Bella covered my injury with an ace bandage. I couldn’t take the stress that was building up. My stomach twisted painfully and I barely had time to crouch over the toilet bowl before I puked. I felt like utter crap but my body didn’t have much in it to get rid of.
Em held back my hair and Bella shot me a worried look. “Are you okay?”
“She’ll be fine,” Emma answered for me.
Before the three of us went back down to the living room, Bella grabbed my arm and held me back a second behind Em. “Did you do that on purpose? Throw up, I mean. Lizzy, what’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing, Bella,” I snapped, pulling my arm away. “I didn’t barf on purpose; I barfed because I’m freaking out right now. You have absolutely no right to lecture me, Bella. You’ve been keeping this crap from me and that’s not what sisters do. I don’t know if I can forgive you for that.”
I ran down to catch up with Emma. Jacob's friend Embry watched Em as if she was a goddess. He gave her a quick summary that werewolves and vampires were real. She had a minor meltdown like I had and then Bella started in on the details. She spoke gently and nervously, probably worried that I’d snap at her again.
"When I first moved with Dad, I didn't think any of this was real, either. But I knew that Edward and his family were different. Special. Well, a group of us went to First Beach but Edward didn't come because we were going to be on the Quileute reservation. I sort of tricked Jacob into telling me some old stories. A few days later I was in Port Angeles and, um, Edward came. He confirmed what Jake had told me."
"And you were okay with all of this?" Em asked shocked. "I mean, he's hot and all. But come on Bella. You're supposed to be the smart one here."
I kicked her shin. "Em, shut up. Can't you just be quiet for a minute? I’m trying to make sense of this shit and you’re not helping." She stuck her tongue out and flipped me off. Yep, that's my Em.
"Anyway. I started hanging out with Jacob a lot last year when...” She trailed off, not wanting to go into when Edward had abandoned her. “Anyway, that's when he first phased. He didn't talk to me for weeks and I was completely devastated. He gave me a few hints and I found out what he was. Things were pretty much back to normal for a while."
"Yeah. Until you jumped off a cliff and your leeches came back."
"Shut it, Jake," Bella hissed. "But like he said. I went cliff diving like Jake promised I could. Well, Alice saw and thought I had died. Edward was being an idiot and went to Italy to try to get himself killed. I went after him and stopped him before he got caught. But the vampire royalty, I guess you can call them, found out that I knew and now... Um... I'm gonna be a Cullen."
"What?!" I wanted to scream at her more. I wanted to grab her and tell my sister she was being absolutely stupid. But I couldn't. I actually felt calm for some reason.
"That's because of Jasper," Edward explained. "He can control emotions. Alice can see the future. And I can read minds."
"Well stop it. It's annoying," I snapped. "What I still don't get is why there was a vampire trying to kill us less than fifteen hundred feet from our house."
"Oh, right. The vampire he's working for wants to kill me," Bella said like it was no big deal. How can she not be freaking out?
"Why?"
"Edward killed her mate. He tracked me down in Phoenix last spring and tricked me. James almost got me when Edward got there. Now Victoria wants revenge and thinks killing me will settle the score."
I was starting to get a major migraine. I needed some vodka or something. "That's all fine and dandy. But why are you telling us now? I mean, you already kept your damn secret this long so why spill?"
"There's this thing that we wolves do," Embry answered. I noticed that he and Emma had barely taken their eyes off each other. "It's called imprinting. That means that we are allowed to tell you everything."
"Let me guess. You fell for Emma?" His blush was visible even under his dark complexion. I rolled my eyes. "Well if you all excuse me, I think I'll go and try to jump off a cliff now." I got up and ran out to my bike.

*jacob's pov*
We watched as Lizzy ran out the door. Embry and Lizzy's friend were already cuddling up together. Jasper and Alice left and Bella led Edward into the kitchen. "What are you waiting for?" Quil asked. "Go after her."
"Huh? Oh! Right. I'll see you guys later."
I tied my pants to my ankle and phased into a wolf. I followed her scent easily and caught up to her in no time. She had parked her bike on the side of the road half way between Forks and La Push. She sat on the ground with her head in her lap. "How is this happening?" she kept asking herself.
I walked up to her and leaned my head on her lap. She jumped and looked at me cautiously. "Jacob?" I nodded. "I still don't want to believe that it's all real. This is just too insane. I thought all of this was make believe. I never actually wanted to live in a fantasy story."
She sat stroking my fur and leaning up against her bike with her eyes closed. She looked so peaceful and relaxed. I suddenly got an idea and ran into the protection of the trees to change back. "Hey," she protested.
"Did you really want to go cliff diving?" I asked when I came back out. She gasped.
"Wh-what?"
"Did you really want to go cliff diving?" I smirked.
"Um, yeah. That sounds like fun."
"Then let's go."
She smirked back and hopped on her motorcycle with me behind her. It felt so good to be so close to her.

*lizzy's pov*
It didn't take long to get to First Beach. But it felt weird having Jake so close. It might have been because his body was so warm against mine. When we got to the edge that we would be jumping from, I almost blushed. I covered it quickly by asking, "Jake? Why is your hand so hot?"
"Werewolf thing," he answered simply.
"Oh." The whole idea of werewolves and vampires was creepy but I couldn’t make myself think if over or I’d do something incredibly stupid.
He counted to three and we plunged into the icy water. He pulled me up sputtering and coughing up water. We both had huge grins plastered on our faces as we swam to shore.
"That was so cool," I spat out, collapsing next to him on the beach.
I scooted closer to him so that his body temperature could warm me up. I was lying on his arm and he was playing with my hair. "Yeah, it was."
"Want to do it again?"
"Sure, sure." He smiled and I melted.
