I'm Not Anywhere Close to Perfect

012.

-Beth's POV-

I watched Aubree walk out of my office in a rush and sighed. Way to go, Leland. Now there's going to be a lot of tension until they work things out. I walked out of my office to find everyone except for
Aubree on the couches. Duane was going over our next fugitive and his record. Leland and Duane Lee were messing around like usual not even listening while Baby Lyssa was the only one
really listening.

"Where's Aubree? She should be listening to this." Duane said to me.

"I think she went outside." Lyssa spoke up.

"I'll go get her." Leland said standing up.

"No you won't. I will." I said giving him a small glare. He gave me a weird look and sat back down. I walked out the back door and sure enough Aubree was sitting down on a curb smoking a
cigarette. I didn't know she smoked.

"Hey." I said walking over and I just stood next to her.

"Hi." She looked up at me.

"Since when did you smoke?" I asked laughing.

"Just whenever I feel like I'm about to blow up." She said smiling.

"Oh. What exactly happened between you and Leland?"

"Where to start." She joked. I gave her a serious look and she sighed. "Okay, well first off we just flirted. You all know that then we kissed at the fight but he brought me home and kissed me again. So
naturally someone would think that when a person does that he likes them back. And last night he came to my car door before I was leaving and practically shoved his tongue down my throat. Then
he came over last night and stayed the night. We cuddled and everything. Then he comes into your office saying he's going to ask out another girl. That's what happened."

"Woah. I know Duane didn't raise Leland to do things like that."

"Yeah and it's obviously not one of those things where he accidentally lead me on, he actually did."

"I know, I'm sorry honey." I sighed.

"Beth! Come on!" I heard Duane yell at me from inside. Sometimes I want to kill him. I rolled my eyes and groaned.

"We have to go in, just suck it up and don't let Leland notice anything until after the bounty." I told her. She nodded and put out her cigarette before both of us walked back in.

-Aubree's POV-

I sat down on a different couch farthest from Leland. I tried not to have a pissed off look on my face but it's so hard. I seriously feel like beating the living shit out of Leland.
It's perfect timing when you think about it, my dad comes into my life and I'm worried about him coming back and killing me while Leland is messing around with me like a little toy. Thank God Dog
finished talking so we could all load up in the cars. I walked to where everyone's belts and vests were and grabbed mine and put it on.

"Looks you don't need my help anymore." Leland laughed walking up to me.

"Yeah." I said plainly.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm just peachy." I said giving him a fake smile. Apparently he believed my smile because he walked closer to me and smiled back at me.

"Good." He said leaning down trying to kiss me. I pushed him back and gave him a weird look. He raised an eyebrow at me. "What?"

"Don't ever try to kiss me again. You hear me?" I said walking away. That boy is just lucky I didn't smack him across the face as hard as I could. I went into Duane Lee and Dog's car. Beth already
talked to them about me riding with them from now on, which I'm extremely thankful for. I was in the back with Dog while Duane Lee was driving. I have to admit it's a lot more fun riding with them than
with the girls and Leland.

We drove to the first address on the application and searched that house but our guy wasn't there so we drove to a parking lot in a park to call our informant for new leads. Duane Lee and Leland
were out of the cars messing around. Dog was on the phone with our informant. I guess Beth and Lyssa were still in their car because they weren't out. I sat looking out the window at the clear baby blue sky.

"Hey Aubree." Dog said getting back into the car.

"Yeah?" I turned towards him.

"I know somethings going on between you and Leland. Just have a little faith with him. He doesn't know anything really about girls." He told me. I nodded and smiled.

"Thanks." I said.

Dog actually got a good lead so we were on our way to a second house that our fugitive was supposed to be at for a little bit. I was told to stand by the cars while Lyssa and Duane Lee
went to the back and Leland, Beth, and Dog went to the front. Luckily the guy surrendered and their wasn't any screaming, yelling, or fighting. The bad part was I had to ride in the same car as
Leland on the way to the jail to book the fugitive. Lyssa was in the front seat driving while Leland and I were in the back seat not talking.

"So, how's everyone doing?" Lyssa said awkwardly. She could obviously tell something was wrong.

"I'm doing great." My words were dripping with sarcasm.

"Obviously not." I heard Leland mutter.

"Excuse me?" I asked him.

"I said obviously not." He said back getting defensive. Oh boy, if looks could kill this kid would be dead.

"Well then tell me what's wrong, Mr. Leland." I said in fake happiness just to piss him off even more.

"I'm not going to get into a fight with you."

"Looks like I already hate you then." I yelled.

"Guys, stop!" Lyssa cut in. She stopped the car and I gave Leland once last glare before getting out the of car. I slammed the car door and walked over to where Beth and Dog was.

"Oh no, what happened?" Beth asked.

"I'm about to kill him." I said putting my hands over my forehead. I could almost literally feel my blood boiling.

-Leland's POV-

"What did you do?!" Lyssa yelled at me.

"I have no idea!" I yelled back.

"Well, you obviously did something."

"Thank you, captain obvious." I rolled my eyes at her.

"Don't start getting an attitude with me just because things are going great for you."

"Can you just find out what I did."

"That would be breaking girl code."

"So what! I'm your freaking brother."

"Fine." Lyssa sighed.

"Thank you." I said rubbing my face with my hands. Why do girls always have to be so much freaking drama?!

-Lyssa's POV-

I got out of the car and started for Aubree. Looks like I'm going to end up being in the middle once I talk to her, just like always. I swear my family is a living soap opera. One minute everyone is fine
then the next it's like someone is going to kill another. I saw Aubree talking to Beth and my dad, so I walked up to her.

"Hey, Lyss." Beth said.

"Hey." I replied. "Girl, Leland is freaking out."

"Good, he should." Aubree said.

"You know you don't mean that. What happened?" I asked. Aubree told me every thing and the whole "Nicole" situation.

"Damn." I said shaking my head. Leland might as well buried himself six feet deep. Aubree never really gets furious like she is now or even the slightest bit mad around us, but when she does it's like
the whole world better look out for her. It's a good thing she's into boxing. At least she can get her anger out on a punching bad and not on a real person.

"I haven't even heard about this Nicole girl and normally Leland tells me everything." I said looking back at the car. Aubree shrugged and ran a hand through her hair. I knew she didn't want to be
mad at my brother. That's the last thing she wanted, I could tell she loved him. She and Leland might not have noticed it yet but everyone else has and Leland feels the same way about her. Both
of them get ten times happier when the other one walks into the room, they can't stop smiling around each other, and when they are actually down about something they can make each other feel
like it never happened. I don't know why they want to throw it all away for some stupid bitch named, Nicole. I already hate her, Leland does not get my blessing to go out with her.

Two chapters in one day! Woot. :D It really shows how much of a life I have..haha. I like this chapter though. Sorry for changing the point of views so much, it was needed! I'll probably have another one up tomorrow or the next day. Hell maybe even tonight.
Anyway, comment please? <3
