An unfamiliar number flashed across the caller ID on my phone and I contemplated answering it. With a sigh I picked up the vibrating object and pushed the green answer button.
“Hello?”
“Hello. I’m Doctor Collins. Is this Thomas Bell?”
“I go by TJ, but yeah it’s me. What do you need?” I confirmed.
There was a shuffling of papers.
“Well it seems your fiancé got involved in a shooting at a nearby gas station.”
