Make Me Better

Chapter 46

I didn't even have a chance to push Cooke away before he was pushing me into a dark hallway. His lips pressed against mine and I squirmed in his tight grasp. I turned my head to the side quickly.

"Cooke, you ass! I have a boyfriend, ugh!" He loosened his grip enough so that I could wipe my mouth. He reeked of booze and weed. I looked up at him before I put both hands on his chest and pushed him away.
Cooke looked over his shoulder, "Well, your boyfriend isn't here, is he?" He smirked at me and I scowled. I wasn't trying to let him know that I was a tad scared by his actions. The fact that we were completely alone in the dark hallway had my heart beating rapidly.

"You're drunk." It was the only thing I could think of saying. He only smirked once more as he came closer, I moved to my left quickly and glared at him, "You're such a pig." I started to walk away, nervous that he would pull me back. So, when he did I nearly had a heart attack. I squealed when he slammed me against the wall, his hand was playing with the top of my shirt,

"Aw, come on, love. Remember when it was just you and me? I miss those days, baby." I slapped his hand away from my shirt. He grabbed both of my wrists in one big hand and pulled them down, his body was so close to mine, kicking him was not an option.

"Too bad, not let me go." I tried my absolute hardest to keep my voice steady. He only smiled and leaned down to kiss me, I turned my head to the side. He kissed my neck and I struggled against him. I could hear the random people talking and I thought of screaming, but was it really that serious? I didn't want to seem crazy or anything. "Cooke, stop." I got enough space to knee him in the balls. He groaned and stumbled backwards. I walked quickly towards the crowded living room. I couldn't even do that, before I could step out of the darkness, Cooke wrapped an arm around my waist.

"Don't be difficult ,Olive." He slurred.

"I'm not playing," I pushed against his chest, "Leave me alone."

"I just want to talk." Fuck him for being so goddamn strong. He lifted me off my feet quickly and before I knew it we were in a bedroom. I kept my distance from him as he looked at me.

"What the hell is there to talk about? And why do we have to do it in here, alone?" I asked quickly. He was drunk, I had pretty good chance of escaping him if I tried hard enough.

"I miss you, Olive."

"Cooke, that really sucks, but I don't care. Nor will I ever. I'm with Frank now and you can't just fucking make out with me whenever you please."

He laughed and it sort of scared me, "Where is your little boyfriend? I thought he would have caught on that you were missing."
He walked over to me and I only glared as I crossed my arms over my chest. "Don't touch me." I warned. He shook his head as he took another step towards me. That's when I dashed around him and opened the door quickly. I bumped into someone and stumbled backwards.

"Oli, " Frank reached over to steady me, "There you are." I was breathing heavily from being so nervous and scared. Frank gave me a questioning look as I started to push him backwards.

"What were you doing here all alone?" Frank asked.

"She wasn't alone," Came Cooke's voice, "She was with me." I turned quickly so that I could glare at him.

"That isn't true!" Frank pulled me back, his body shielding me from Cooke.

"Really? " Cooke quirked an eyebrow. Sure, I didn't them to get into a fight but Cooke was really pissing me off and i would be damned if he lied about the whole thing. I grasped Frank's arm, making him turn slightly. He gave me a glare and I frowned,

"Isn't Olive a great kisser?" Cooke asked, "I truly forgot how great those kisses were until tonight." Frank's glare got meaner as he looked at me.
I scoffed, "It isn't like that, " I shook his arm slightly, "He kissed me! Then he forced me into that room."

"You kissed her?" Frank snarled.

"Oh, so you're mad now? It isn't my fault you left your girl unattended , well she was my girl before she was ever yours." I should've seen the whole thing coming but it happened so quickly, I didn't know how to process it all. Frank had pushed me back lightly before he took a couple steps forward and then he punched Cooke. Cooke stumbled backwards but he regained composure quickly.

"Ok, stop." I said loudly, hoping that they would listen to me. Cooke tackled Frank and they knocked over a couple things as they wrestled.

"Stop." I repeated walking over to try and pull them apart, but obviously it wasn't working. They fell onto the floor and I looked behind me, I spotted Ray's fro and jogged over to him, grabbing onto his shirt, "Ray, help me." I tugged him over and he moved me aside as he tried to pull Cooke off of Frank. I couldn't watch as they fought, I could only pray that Frank hadn't got hurt. I looked over when it had gotten completely quiet. Ray was holding back Frank as Cooke was laying on the floor.

Frank got out of Ray's grasp and kicked Cooke's back. Cooke coughed and I went over to him, making sure he was alright.

"What are you doing, Oli?" Frank asked, looking down at me.

"I have to make sure if he's ok." As lame as it sounded, but I didn't want Cooke to get hurt either and by the looks of it he didn't seem to be doing so well. I turned Cooke onto his back, his nose was bleeding and he had a black eye forming. I shook him lightly,

"Cooke?" I asked. His eyes were closed and my nerves were getting the best of me, I leaned closer to his face and looked down at his chest, he was still breathing.

"He's fucking fine." Frank said annoyance dripping from every word. Cooke opened his eyes slowly and glared up at Frank. He sat up and coughed up blood. I gasped at the amount of blood that was coming out his mouth.

"Are you ok?" I asked, making him lean his head back as I inspected his nose. Some guy came over, claiming it was his apartment and that he would take care of Cooke. I watched as the guy helped Cooke into the bathroom before shutting the door. I was still kneeing on the floor when I looked up.

"Where's Frank?" I asked Ray.

"He went outside." He extended his arm to help me up. I pushed through the people and when I finally got outside, I took a couple deep breaths. I made my way down the stairs, it was cold when I finally made it out onto the street.

Frank as leaning against his car, smoking a cigarette, "How's your friend doing?"

I sighed, "You're seriously not mad about that are you? I just had to make sure he was ok."

He stomped on his cigarette, "You didn't bother to see if I was ok."

"He was on floor, coughing up blood, Frank. Of course I was going to be worried."

Frank rolled his eyes, "Yeah, whatever."

Tears stung my eyes as I looked at him, "Don't be mad, Frank." My voice came out as a whisper.

"I'm going back inside." He mumbled before heading back into the building, leaving confused. I wiped away my tears quickly and stared down at the ground as I tried to gain my composure. I leaned against Frank's car and sighed angrily, I didn't do anything wrong, Frank had no reason to be mad at me.
