Make Me Better

Chapter 71

The gang was back to normal, all because Lindsey and Gee got over their differences and got back together. There was no need to divide our time among the two, so everyone was pretty happy. Lindsey was planning to move to New York next month and go to school out there, just like Gerard. I was getting a bit over stressed about college, I had sent out a couple applications but I wasn't so sure about what I wanted to do career wise. We all tried to convince Mikey and Frank to head to college but they just wanted to focus on the band.

I wasn't going to lie, I was getting quite nervous about graduating high school. I didn't have a set plan,I would go to any school that accepted me and then try and figure out what I wanted to major in. My dad was pressuring me to go into law just like him, but law seemed boring. I wanted a career that I found fun and exciting.

There was a couple things keeping my mind off all the things I would have to deal with after high school, and they were prom and my baby sister. Sofia was a month and a half old. She was still small but she was healthy enough to come home. I was never much of a baby person until she came along. I made sure to spend as much time with her as I could. She was a fussy baby and she enjoyed to wail and cry but I still loved her. My parents loved her a ton, you could see it as they held her or fed her a bottle. It worried me a little how much my dad loved her, because we still weren't sure if she was his. I couldn't tell if she looked anything like him, she looked exactly like my mom.

Prom was a day away and I really couldn't wait. Mikey decided not to go, so it would only be Frank and I.
My mom had woken me up early that day, "Olive, what are you going to do with your hair? Are you going to straighten it, leave down, an up-do?" She asked, rocking the baby in her arms. I rubbed at my eyes and shrugged. She let out a sigh, and hummed.

"I guess i'll straighten it, and an up-do is out of the question." She nodded in agreement. My mom was definitely more excited than I was. When the time came to get ready, she was in my room with me, helping me with my hair and putting on my dress, even though I didn't need any help. She did my make-up, which was no fun. I kept moving so she kept poking my eyes. I despised make-up, it was bound to get ruined and then I would end up looking like a clown. Once she was done, I slipped on my heels and walked over to my full length mirror.

"Whoa. I look..."

"So pretty." My mom clapped her hands together and smiled brightly.

"Different." I mumbled.

"Let me have a look at you." My dad said as I walked out of my room and into the living room. I blushed and rolled my eyes.

"Dress is pretty short-"

"Shut up." My mom snapped.

"You look beautiful, Olive."

My mom nodded in approval. I don't know why but I was starting to feel a bit nervous, what if Frank thought I looked like an idiot? Or maybe he would think I was over doing it. I pushed my thoughts away when I heard the doorbell ring,

"Mom, no." I whispered when I saw her snatch her camera out of her purse. She ignored me and ushered me to the door. I opened it slowly, keeping me eyes on the ground.

"Wow, Olive."

"Awww." My mom said in the background. She pushed us together and started snapping away.

"Olive, will you smile?" She sighed. I smiled and she went back to taking a billion pictures. I smiled until my face hurt, that's when I decided it was enough.

"Ok, we have to go." I said.

"No fooling around, Iero." My dad said sternly. I rolled my eyes,

"Yes, sir." Frank smiled up at my dad. I grabbed Frank's hand as we made our way to his car, I looked over at him, getting a good look.

"Your tie matches my dress." I smiled.

"I'm glad I went with this shade."

"You look breathtaking." He added. I snorted in laughter and looked over at him, he was totally serious.

"Oh.... Thank you." I mumbled, "You look very handsome in a suit."

"I know." He smirked.

The drive to the venue, was a short one, because the prom was being held at a dance hall not very far from school.
When we made our way inside, there was already a bunch of people on the dance floor, Frank and I walked over to an empty table,

"I wonder if the punch is spiked." Frank said.

"Probably." I laughed. "I think we should dance." I said over the loud music.

"What?!" Frank shouted.

"Lets dance." I pointed over to the dance floor.

"I can't dance."

"Neither can I!" He huffed and grabbed my hand, leading us to the dance floor, I was thankful that the upbeat song changed into something much slower. I wrapped my arms around Frank's neck, while his hands grasped my hips.

"I feel awkward."

"No one is paying attention to us." I responded.

"I'm only doing this because of you."

"Well, thank you." I smiled up at him.

"I can't believe school is almost over." I said slowly. He nodded, "It's crazy, huh?" That was another thing that worried me, would Frank and I be able to make this relationship work after high school? I knew the band would start going on tour soon, and I wouldn't see him much if I went to college.

This a bit of a filler, and I didn't want to write the whole prom thing out because I think I would do a crappy job. But this story is almost over, I don't know when exactly because I've haven't written it all but it just feels right to end it in the next couple of chapters.
