Make Me Better

Chapter 75

It had been a week since I saw Frank last, he called me at least twice a day. Sometimes we had nothing to talk about at all, but it was still nice to just hear his voice. He was coming home in a day or two and I was excited but my schedule was pretty packed. Luckily, he wasn't going anywhere for a good amount of time.

"Hey, Olive." I looked up from my textbook, meeting big brown orbs.

"What's up, Penny?"

"Throwing a party at my place tonight, would be cool if you came." She smiled, and right then a bigger figure popped up from behind her, flashing his pearly whites,

"Yeah, you definitely need to stop by," Ben smiled.

I laughed a bit, "Well, I don't have work so I don't see why not." I was a bit excited for the party, I hadn't really gone out and went to a party since high school. Later that day, I went home and changed into jeans and a regular tank top, I grabbed a cardigan and headed out.

"Where you going?" My dad asked. I stopped walking and looked over at him, "Out, with my friends."

"Who? Lindsey?"

I shook my head, "Friends from school."

"Ain't your boyfriend back in town?" He raised an eyebrow, I shook my head once more, "Not yet,or at least I don't think so.

He nodded,"Well, okay. Be good."

"I always am, dad." I rolled my eyes. I drove over to Penny's house, which wasn't that far from mine, maybe 10 minutes away. It seemed fairly quiet from outside but once I stepped into the house, the music and the smell of weed hit me. I spotted Penny quickly, waving at her.

"Olive, yay! I'm glad you came." She smiled and handed me a red cup, "Beer." She added once I leaned down to smell the liquid.

"So, isn't your boyfriend coming home soon?" Penny asked.

"You have a boyfriend?" Ben asked, his eyebrows raising his eyebrows. I nodded slowly, wondering why he even cared.

"Yeah."

"And he's away?" He asked.

"He's in a band, they went on tour." I replied casually.

"Whoa, in a band, huh?" He smiled a bit, "Don't you worry about him?" It was my turn to raise my eyebrows,

"What do you mean?"

"Well," He shrugged, "My older brother is in a band, he has a girlfriend but all he does when he's on the road is cheat on her."

"Oh." I mumbled, not knowing what else to say. I was starting to feel a bit awkward and judged, I wasn't stupid, I knew Frank could easily have any girl he wanted but I'd like to think that he never gave into temptation.

"Don't you ever think about that?" Ben asked.

"Not until now, thanks." I mumbled lowly, not making eye contact with him. Penny coughed, a fake cough. She was trying to change the subject, no doubt.

"Don't listen to him, he's had one too many drinks." She whispered over to me, making sure he wouldn't hear her. I just nodded. Frank wouldn't cheat on me and I never doubted him in that aspect, but I guess I sort of had a right to worry about him. Oh god, stupid Ben, if it weren't for him I wouldn't be thinking about this. For the rest of the night, I tried my best to enjoy myself. But it felt a bit odd to be out at a party on my own. I was about to get ready to leave because it was getting late and I didn't want my dad worrying.

"Olive!" Penny called, "Can you pleeease do me a favor?" She pointed over at Ben, who was passing out the couch, "Take him home? Originally, I was going to, but I can't leave my house not until everyone leaves.

"Umm," I wanted to say no because I wasn't ever really fond of Ben, he was just some kid who hung around Penny all the time, "Ok." I agreed slowly.

"Oh,thanks!" She hugged my quickly, she helped me get Ben into my car, he kept mumbling incoherent things. I was hoping he would just pass out in the car 'cause I really didn't want to talk to him.

"Ok, " I said, putting my seatbelt on and looking over at him. "I don't know where you live, soo," He opened his eyes and pointed straight,

"Then make a right on Willoughby, my house is like 5 minutes away." I nodded and started the car. I hadn't even been driving long when Ben urged me to stop the car.

"What is it?" I asked, my annoyance reaching a new height. He didn't respond, he just swung the door open and walked a few steps away, throwing up.
Well at least he didn't do it in my car. It was fairly quiet minus Ben coughing his lungs up. I leaned over to turn the music up on the radio, trying to tune Ben out. There was a loud honk behind me, I jumped up in surprise, turning to see what was going on. The car pulled up next to me, rolling down the passenger side window.

It was Frank. I wanted to smile brightly and get out and hug him but I was a bit confused as to why he was here. I thought he wasn't coming home for a day or two.

"Hey." I said.

He quirked an eyebrow, "I went over to your house, trying to surprise you. Your dad said you went out with friends."

"Why didn't you call me?" I asked.

He shrugged, "Figured you were out having fun." Just then I remembered Ben was still with me, I could hear his footsteps coming back, towards my car. I was hoping that this situation wouldn't end up looking weird to Frank.

"Okay, I'm good." Ben sat back down, leaning back in the seat and looking over at me, he leaned back up and looked past me, making eye contact with Frank. Frank started to look confused, looking back from me and then to Ben.

"Um," I started, "Ben needed a ride home, he's sorta out of it."

"This your boyfriend?" Ben asked, looking up at me.

"Yeah," Frank said before I could respond, "I'm her boyfriend." I looked at Frank who was forming up a glare.

"Hey, I mumbled, "Let me just drop him off, we can hang out then? Unless you're tired-"

"Yeah, drop by my place." Frank nodded.

"Ok." With that Frank pulled away quickly, leaving Ben and I in an awkward silence. "He seems irritated." Ben said.

"He's probably just tired." I responded.

"He the jealous type?"

I didn't answer right away, it was bit odd that Ben even cared, "Hm," I shrugged, "Sometimes." I wouldn't blame Frank if were 'jealous' or whatever you wanted to call it. If it were the other way around, I would be quite suspicious as to why Frank would be driving some random girl home from a party.

"Oh." Ben nodded. Luckily, we were parked right in front of his house in a matter of minutes. He got out slowly, trying to gain his composure. "Thanks, for the ride and all." He said, smiling a little.

"No big deal." I shrugged.

As I was driving to Frank's house, I felt excited but a bit nervous. I knocked on the front door, smiling a bit when Frank opened it.

"Hey." I said, my smile getting bigger.

"Olive." He shot me a small grin. I couldn't help myself, I lunged towards him and hugged him tightly, and tilted my head to press my lips against his. He stumbled backwards, grabbing a hold of my hands, pulling me with him. I really hadn't even realized it, but we ended up making it to Frank's room.
I didn't even have time to be embarrassed or shy because our clothes were shed so quickly, and Frank never took his lips off of mine. He was hovering above me, pushing my hair away from my face.

"God, " He sighed, "You're beautiful."

"Frank." I whined, feeling my cheeks burn up. He chuckled a bit and pulled away from me, going to retrieve something out of one of his drawers.

"You sure?" He asked, as he moved in between my legs.

"Yeah." I nodded.

After our 'fun' we were laying in Frank's bed, shiny with sweat.

"So?" He asked.

"Hm?"

"Who's that guy you were with?" Frank mumbled into my shoulder, before pressing a couple kisses into my skin.

"He's not even my friend, he's just some guy...." I responded.

"Yeah?" Frank asked, his grip getting tighter around my waist, I moved a bit so that I was facing him,

"Yeah." I nodded, smiling a little. I kissed his nose and Frank laughed, "Don't worry about me,"

He frowned a bit, "How could I not, Olive?"

"What do you mean?"

"Do you know what you look like?" He asked, his hand rubbing circles on my lower back.

"Yes?" I said slowly, feeling a bit confused.

"You're gorgeous, " He said, smiling down at me, "Any guy would be lucky to have you."

"Maybe," I shrugged, "But I only want you." I snuggled closer to him.

"I know, but I can't help but to think that one day you'll get tired of me and go off with someone else-"

"I'm not going to get tired of you," I frowned at him.

"Just seems a bit surreal that you're sticking with me when I have to leave for months at a time," He shrugged.

"Yeah, but you're the one who has girls throwing themselves at you. I don't even hang out with guys other than you and the rest of the group. You shouldn't worry, because I'm not going anywhere."

He scoffed, "Girls don't throw themselves at me, Olive."

I rolled my eyes, "So no one has tried to make a move on you?"

He stayed quiet, "Well, yeah...but it isn't like that happens every night." It was my turn to stay quiet, thinking over his words. Frank must have sensed my worry,

"That's all, it doesn't ever get further than that." He pressed his forehead against mine, "I know it must be as hard for you as it is for me, but I'm not gonna screw up what we have." I sighed a little.

"I know, I trust you."

"And I trust you." He responded.
