The Devil's Pawn

Ch. 31

“Taylor, shut the fuck up!” Erica hissed.

“Sorry!” I whispered back, “Are you ready?”

“Let’s go.”

I slipped my legs through the window, moving out until I felt my feet touch the top of the
roof on the first level. Erica was my guide as we carefully slipped down to the edge where
the gutter was. She sat down on the edge, hanging her feet off.

“Is there a window underneath me?”

I shook my head.

Erica slipped off, landing with a soft thud.

I followed in suit.

It was dark as we sprinted down the block to where her car was parked at the opposite
end. It was seven o’clock in the evening, and prom started in an hour. Erica and I had come
to the mutual agreement that my mother would never allow me to go to prom, thus meaning I
had to sneak out. I could feel the thrill of rebellion coursing through my veins as our feet
clattered down the side walk quickly.

We reached the car a few seconds later.

Erica turned it on and sped down my drive way quickly.

“What if she finds out?” I asked softly.

Erica rolled her eyes. “What excuse did you use, Taylor?”

“I said I was sick and going to bed and to leave me alone for the evening.” I
summarized. I hadn’t said it that blatantly. There was more politeness in the way I had
phrased it earlier. But I said it with hopes she would follow those instructions.

“Then you’re fine.”

“But what if…”

“I’ll pull over, and you can go back home if you want to.” She snapped at me irritably. “Do
you want me to?”

“No.”

“Good.”

It was a silent ride to her house.

I had never been to her house before. It was a small one story little house fifteen
minutes away from my own. Her lawn had brown patches all around the front, something my
mother never would have let happen.

Her house seemed to be kept in nice shape otherwise. Lights lit up behind curtains in
the window as shadows moved across signaling activity. Erica parked her car along the side
of the road. Once I stepped out of it, I realized why.

Her driveway had three cars crammed into it.

“You guys have four cars?” I asked as we made our way to her house.

She shook her head, “My mom as one, I have one and then the other two are the step
dad and step sister’s.”

“They live with you?”

She scowled, “Only the step dad. Tami likes her mom more so she visits on the
weekends.”

“How old is she?”

“Fifteen.” Erica opened the door, walking in. She led the way up to her room in complete
silence. I could hear a male and female voice talking in the other room, but she paid no
attention to it. She opened a door, entering in.

We had arrived in Erica’s room.

“She’s such a brat.” Erica opened her closet door, taking out the two dresses cloaked in
white bags, “She legally isn’t allowed to drive yet Phil takes her out all the time in her brand
new damn Honda.”

I sat quietly while she ranted away.

Erica examined the dresses as she spoke, her eyebrows furrowing together in thought.
After a second she tossed me the left one. She pulled the bag off of her gown and began to
strip off her clothes to get into it.

Hesitantly, I mimicked her actions, turning my back so as not to face her. The only girl I
had seen completely naked—aside from the health diagrams—had been Sam. I had
intentions on keeping it that way.

I pulled the dress on, tugging it down to a comfortable level on my waist. “Erica, can you
zip me up?”

“Yeah, come here.” She said with hers on as well. It amazed me how she had managed
to zip herself up so easily. She slid the metallic zipper up my back quickly. The fabric
tightened sharply around my body as I sucked in my gut to make room.

“All good.” She smiled. As I turned around, I was able to watch her smile quickly
disappear from her face, “You’re not wearing any make-up…”

“I thought…”

“Sit your ass down, Taylor. We’ve got a lot of work to do.” She groaned, motioning me to
the edge of her bed.

The door bell rang thirty minutes later. Erica and I exchanged eye contact briefly. A few
seconds later, her mother called up the stairs.

“Erica, your dates are here!”

I giggled at the way her mother phrased it. Erica flipped me off before slipping on a pair
of incredibly high heels and leading the way out of the room.

I suddenly felt very self conscious of the way I looked. Would I look to normal next to Trenton? Too overdressed? Would I look fat next to a man with a body like his? Would I look
ugly compared to him?

Trenton and Fits stood in the door way looking uncomfortable in the tuxes. Fits’ hair had
been slicked back stylishly and Trenton had taken out the disgusting purple gauges he had
been wearing to replace them with solid sparkly ones. While I still didn’t like that he had
them to begin with, these looked better with his outfit.

I grabbed Erica’s elbow, leaning in close to whisper to her, “Did Fits really ask you to
prom, Erica?”

She sighed, shaking her head slightly, “He’s just my ride there.”

The disappointment was evident in her voice. I bit my glossed lip slightly, feeling a pang
in my heart.

“Make him want you, Erica.”

She smiled weakly, but it seemed like my words had little encouragement for her. Erica
took in a deep breath and plastered a superficial smile on her face as we greeted the boys.

Trenton looked surprisingly good. As we walked closer, I took the time to study him
more carefully.

I blushed, quickly looking away once I realized he was watching me as well. Trenton’s
shoulders shook from silent laughter. I walked over to his side, grabbing his warm hand
tightly and interlacing our fingers.

“You kids want pictures?” Erica’s mom called from the other room. I had yet to see what
her face looked like.

“No.” Erica snapped. She grabbed Fits’ hand, pulling him out of the door before anyone
could protest. Trenton gave me a sharp tug and we followed after the couple as they hurried
out of the doorway.

There was an annoyed sigh from Erica’s mother before we closed the door behind us. I
felt as if I should’ve said an apology, but she wasn’t my mother.

It was a silent ride over to the hotel where Prom was being held.

The radio played quietly as background noise, but no one made any effort to start a
conversation. We drove in Fits’ car, but I had a feeling we wouldn’t be returning home in it. I
kept my thoughts myself though.

We parked in the parking garage. As a group, we all made our way to the grand hall
entrance where music was thudding loudly from. The doors were open and student council sophomores stood outside the entrance waiting to take tickets.

Trenton handed ours in and we entered the loud room.

“Holy…”

“…Shit.” He finished for me.

I could only nod in agreement. The lights changed colors with the beat of the song
which blared loudly from two loud speakers on either side of a large portable stage.
Balloons and streams of all sorts of colors clustered the walls and ceilings of the room.

Tables were set up with table clothes supporting our school’s colors of black and red. In
the ever changing colored lights, the black varied from shade to shade of different colors. A
top these small circular tables were a few abandoned plates and cups.

The dance floor was crowded. Everyone clustered around the speakers and the DJ who
seemed to be having a blast in his tux with the large headphones on.

I turned my head to Trenton so see him smirking with a raised eyebrow.

“What’s so funny?” I shouted over the outrageous volume of music. Out of the corner of
my eye, I noticed that Erica and Fits had moved off into the crowd of people grinding on each
other. It was disturbing, but I had a feeling I’d be doing it tonight.

He shook his head, wrapping an arm around my waist, “Nothing.”

He pulled on my hand and into the dance floor we went.

An hour in and I was exhausted.

I grabbed Trenton’s wrist, pulling him off to the side and out of the fist pumping crowd.
The music that had been playing was a preselected list from the students, which was nice. It
wasn’t anything too terrible.

My feet were beginning to ache from the heels I was wearing. It wasn’t my normal style
of shoes, which made everything uncomfortable.

“I’m thirsty.” I grinned up at him.

He wrapped an arm around my shoulders, directing met to the refreshments table at the
opposite end of the room.

We grabbed a cup of a soda and a few chips before heading to an empty table. A few
trash littered one end, but Trenton took a seat on the cleaner part. I sipped from my drink
gratefully, my body dehydrated after an hour of straight movement.

“What do you say we ditch this Popsicle stand for my place?” He asked, leaning an arm
on the table and giving me a seductive look.

I giggled, shaking my head. The back of my neck felt a little damp from the sweat I was
working up, “I’m having fun Trent, and you paid so much for these tickets.”

“So?”

“Let’s put your money to use. There’ll be plenty of time afterwards.”

He rolled his eyes, eating a few chips, “You better not be exhausted or sex just won’t be
as much fun as I imagined.”

I nearly choked on my drink.

This was the first time he’d openly said we were going to have sex tonight. Sure, he’d
told me what he’d wanted to do. He’d implied this evening over and over again. He couldn’t
have dropped less subtle hints on this.
But he had never outright announced that we were going to have intercourse tonight
until this minute.

Despite having known of this, it still shocked me.

“You ok?” He gave me a strange look.

I shook my head, plastering a smile on my face, “I’m fine, I just choked on my soda a

little bit. Went down the wrong tube.”

“I know that.” He chuckled, resting a hand on my thigh, “You’re not worried about
tonight… are you?”

“I…”

He leaned across the small space, pressing his lips against mine. “Don’t worry. It’ll be
the best night of your life.”

“So far.”

He shook his head, “Ever.”

I giggled, downing the rest of my drink, “Let’s go back on the dance floor.”

“Sure, but one condition.”

“What’s that?”

“We’re going to dance my way now.”

I licked my lips nervously as Trenton pulled us back into the middle of the crowd. The
song switched to one with a heavy bass. He smirked, resting his hands on my waist.
Trenton squeezed tightly, turning my body around.

I moved my hands over top of his fingers as he pulled my body right against his. I could
feel my butt touching his crouch. To the beat of the song, he moved his hip back and forth
against me. Trenton’s arms tightened around me as he bent down to speak in my ear,

“Just go with it. Relax, Sweet Cheeks.”

I sucked in a deep breath.

The bass thudded in a rhythmic pattern. Trenton pulled my hips against his roughly,
causing me to giggle. My face heated up as he rubbed me over top of him. He moved our
hips in a scoop almost, causing me to jump as I started to feel him get harder.

His hands squeezed my waist as he chuckled. He leaned down to my ear, “What can I
say? Your ass is so fine.”

I sucked in a deep breath as he grinded his crotch against me. My body had a mind of
its own as I felt myself start to fall into the groove of his swing.

The bass of the song pumped and directed us. I didn’t care if anyone saw such
provocative dancing. I could feel tingles running up and down my body from his touch and it
felt amazing to let loose.

“Look at you two!” Erica smirked.

I froze, opening my eyes. I hadn’t realized they had closed. My mind had been focused
on the closeness of our bodies.

Trenton turned our bodies to face her. She stood in her beautiful dress, a few hairs
astray from movement. An arm was wrapped around her waist that belonged to a boy that I
had never seen in school before.

Fits was nowhere to be seen.

She grinned deviously, leaning on the boy next to her. His attention was focused on her
body. A hand was moving all over his chest right before us. They didn’t look as if they were in
the conscious state of mind.

“Feelin’ each other up! Nearly made me wet.” She giggled, burying her head into the
shoulder of the man next to her.

Trenton chuckled while I stood there with a red face.

The man next to her whispered something in her ear. She giggled again. Her laugh
reminded me of a school girl.

“Erica, you ok?” I asked, plastering a concerned smile on my face.

She waved me off, “I’m fine mother. Just enjoying myself on Prom night with this
handsome gentleman.”

Trenton nodded, “Whatever.”

She giggled.

I didn’t understand the humor.

“I’ll let you two go back to dry humping each other. James and I have some…” She let
out a giggle, “business to attend to.”

“Have fun fucking your brains out.” Trenton snickered.

“You too.” She winked before weaving her way back through the crowd.

Trenton wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me back against him, “Oh, we most
certainly will.”

I giggled, moving away slightly.

He raised an eyebrow.

“What do you say we blow this Popsicle stand for some more fun?” I gave a gentle tug
on the collar of his jacket, biting my bottom lip.

Trenton grinned wickedly, “I like the way you think.”
