Let It Shine

Cameron's POV

I was walking in the park when I heard someone crying. I stopped and tried to find who was crying. I saw a girl crying behind a tree and I went up to her. I was shocked to see it was Tori.

"Hey what's wrong?" I asked sitting next to her

"My boyfriend broke up with me" Tori said crying in my shoulder. I was shocked she did that but I hugged her.

"It's ok, don't cry. He was jerk for leaving you" I said

"I feel horrible" Tori said

"Would you like a hamburger, c'mon say yes" I insisted

"But-" she started

"No, c'mon, I don't want to see you sad" I said

"Fine" she whispered. The walk to the restaurant I was taking her to was quiet. I had an arm around her and she leaned her head on me.

"Hey this is really good" Tori said smiling

"That's the smile I want to see" I said smiling at her.

"I didn't even know this place was here, I've been missing out" she said

"Me and my friends come here all the time" I said

"I should come here more often" she said

"Ok, what is big, white, has dimples and is sometimes round?" I asked

"Humm... I don't know" she said after thinking.

"The moon" I said and she laughed

"Thanks for making me feel better" she said and her eyes began to water

"That's what friends are for" I said

"Yes friend" she said

"I don't want to see that sad face. Happy thoughts... Prom, are you going to prom?" I asked

"I was going to go with him" she said and a few tears started to fall

"Well then, we can skip prom" I said

"We?" she questioned

"Yes we, we can go do something fun" I said. Where did that courage come from?

"You can't give up your prom night because of me" she said

"It doesn't matter, it's not like I had a date anyway" I said shrugging as if it was nothing

"No, I still can't let you do that" she said

"What if we ho together, um I mean we can go as friends, we don't even have to go as dates" I said

"That doesn't sound like a bad idea" she said winking.

Zach's POV

"I have a surprise for you" I told Megan as I took her to Kira's house

"What is it?" Megan asked

"You will find out but first I need you to stay with Kira for a bit, she will help you" I said letting go of her hand

"Help me with what?" Megan asked

"You'll see" I said winking then I left.

Nate and Mikey were helping me get everything ready for my surprise. It's going to be perfect, I just know it.

"So since when are you so romantic?" Nate asked

"I don't know" I said as I put up the last thing

"We actually did all this" Mikey said admiring what we did.

"Thanks for helping me guys" I said

"No problem, you just have to tell us everything that happens" Nate said

"I have to go pick her up. See you guys latter, thanks!" I yelled as I ran off to my car.

I knocked on the door and when the door opened I was looking down fixing my shirt, I looked up to see Megan looking at me. I was about to say something when her lips came crashing on to mine.

"Sorry, I couldn't resist, you just looked too sexy" Megan said

"Why were you stripping down at my door?" Kira asked "Wasn't stripping, I was fixing my buttons" I said. I was wearing black dress pants and a black button shirt.

"Megan you look gorgeous in that dress" I said

"Aww thanks" Megan said kissing me again

"It's time for you to see the surprise I have for you" I said

"I wanna see, I wanna see!" Megan said getting excited, Kira laughed as I took Megan to my car.

"Why are we in a park?" Megan asked

"You'll see" I said mysteriously as lead the way

"Zach this is beautiful! How did you do it?" Megan asked

"I'm glad you like it, and I had help from some friends" I said as I pulled her down a path of candles that lead to a table set up in front of a small pond. I had music playing in the background as we sat at the table with the moon high above us.

"Zach you're the best boyfriend ever" she said

"I try" I said. Then we had a long passionate kiss.

"This is delicious" she said eating the food I had my mom help me make.

"I hope you're not full because we still have desert" I said smiling

"Oh I always have room for desert" she laughed

"So what do you think so far of my surprise?" I asked

"That it's super cute" she said

"May I have this dance?" I asked holding out my hand and she took it then we began to slow danced.

"I love you" Megan said as we danced. It was the first time I heard her say it.

"I love you too" I said and kissed her.

"Zach I love you so much" Megan beamed

"Do you want to go to Prom with me?" I asked

"Yes I would" she said smiling. I hugged her tightly then spun her in the air.

I got home from dropping Megan off at her house and I couldn't stop smiling.

Cameron's POV

Today is Prom night and I am with the beautiful Tori. We came as friends but I don't care. She is with ME! She looks gorgeous in the golden dress, she shown standing out from all the red and black balloons and all the other decorations. Right now we are on the dance floor dancing without a care in the world.

"Cameron thanks for making me have so much fun" Tori said.

"There is no need to thank me" I said

"Come dance with me" her ex boyfriend said standing behind her

"Do you not see that I am with someone" Tori said.

"But you can have better company" he said

"I'm in the best company with who I am so will you leave" Tori said

"Really you're not coming with me?" he asked

"She told you to leave" I said. I'm not scared of him.

"Just go" Tori told him and he left.

"Wanna go sit down?" I asked

"Yeah let’s go" Tori said

"Hey guys" Kira said coming up to us

"Hey" we said.

"Where's your date?" I asked

"With his other date" Kira said. Kira and Mina both came with Nate.

"It's hot here isn't" I said

"Yeah it's hot" Kira said. We talked for a while with Kira then she left and we went back to dance.

"Cameron why are you such a fun date?" Tori asked

"Because I am Cameron" I said winking

"Well I think I should hang out with this Cameron more often" Tori said

"Oh really now, that sounds perfect" I said. A slow song started playing and she put her hands around my neck and I had mine on her waist.

"I didn't know you were so muscular" Tori said

"You don't know a lot about me" I said

"I'm so glad you found me that day" Tori said

"I am too” I said
I can't help be glad that she and her boyfriend are no longer together. I always thought she was too good for him anyway.

Zach's POV

"Have I ever told you how good you look in a tux" Megan said

"No you haven't" I said as I linked arms with her. We were walking in to the place prom was being healed and I noticed she was headed to the dance floor and I stopped.

"Why did you stop?" Megan asked

"I can't dance" I said

"Well I don't care you're coming with me" Megan said dragging me. Oh well she asked for it. We were dancing and she started laughing.

"Hey don't laugh" I complained

"Zach that's cute" Megan said laughing

"Whatever ok" I said

"That was fun" Megan said as we stood by a table getting a drink.

"I like to dance, it's fun" I said drinking

"I thought you couldn't dance" Megan questioned

"Just because I can't dance doesn't mean I don't like it" I said kissing the tip of her nose. A slow song came out and she pulled me back to dance.

"Megan" I said after a few songs

"Humm" Megan said with her head resting on me.

"I love you" I said and kissed her

"I love you too Zach" Megan said and I got the biggest smile on my face.

We kept dancing until we were almost the last ones there. After we left we went to the park where I asked her to prom and we stayed there hugging for a few minutes before I took her home. I entered my house with a big smile.

"How was Prom?" Mom asked

"Perfect" I said

"Honey come here" Mom said wanting me to sit next to her.

"You can't stop smiling can you" Mom said smiling at me

"No, I'm just so happy" I said and she made me put my head on her lap.

"Mom I think I'm in love" I said

"Awww you're growing up so fast" Mom said

"Mom" I mumbled

"In a few years you are going to go off to college and you are going to live your life. I wish you were still a baby and that I could keep you with me forever" Mom said

"Mom I'm not going away forever" I said

"But I don't want you away at all" Mom said

"I love her" I said after a silence

"Are you sure honey?" She asked

"Yeah" I said tiredly

"Be careful ok, I don't want you coming home one day with a broken heart" Mom said sincerely

"I'll be careful" I mumbled

"Do you think she loves you too?" she asked

"She told me she loves me too" I mumbled sleepily

"Are you tired?" she asked

"A bit" I mumbled yawning. Sometime during I was talking I ended up falling asleep.
