'Safe' Is Not A Word In My Vocabulary

Chapter 46

Everything after the first week of planning was all a blur.

Alice and Bree took care of everything, wisking Jacob and I away at seemingly random times for dress fittings, taste-testing, updates, or whatever else they could come up with.

I barely ever saw Jacob a month before the wedding.

Anthony, who turned two a short time after Jacob turned eighteen, altered between the two of us so he was distant as well.

He was trusting enough of the vampires now that we could leave him with the Cullens some nights when Jake and I needed ‘quiet time’ for whatever reason. I was always so beat after putting up with Alice, and Jacob had some mixed patrol hours because of how much he had to miss.

The date was fast approaching, and that only added to Alice and Bree’s rampage. Emily would’ve been the same too, but three weeks before the wedding she went into labor early. It was July already.

Half the pack was outside waiting, while Sam was inside with her and her doctor. The nurses made faces and whispered when they thought we couldn’t hear about the amount of people here. They wouldn’t make us leave though, they were too intimidated and of course impressed by the view of all the guys’.

I gritted my teeth over a few of them who thought I couldn’t see their wandering eyes on Jacob but he just held me in his arms and rubbed my thigh when I took to glaring at people.

Of course, we got stared at ourselves, so it was a two way street. Jacob pretended not to get offended when certain people looked our way, and we took turns calming each other down.
Kim and Jared where in the same situation, except no one was looking at her, and Paul and Rachel were too busy in their own little bubble to notice.

Anthony was with Quil, and Claire, and Seth was with Renesmee and them in New Hampshire. We had called him when we heard the news and were keeping him posted.

She was screaming way more than I did, and I wondered what Sam’s expression looked like. Occaisionally she’d stop for a time, and then start up a few minutes later while the hours dragged on.

Kim and I talked to pass the time when another few doctor’s walked past. Not looking at Kim, but me, even though I was sitting in Jacob’s lap.

“Boy or girl?” she asked skeptically. Emily nad Sam hadnt asked for the sex before because they wanted to be surprised. I rolled my eyes remembering this, “Boy,”

“Why do you think that?” she asked smiling in that friendly way of hers. “Because, Sam and her were imprints, and you imprint to carry on the line right? And besides, Jake and I had a boy.” I reminded her.

She nodded, and Rachel went to go get a drink from the vending machine since we were getting close. Paul followed loyally behind her, and I smirked at the sight. I just loved to tease Paul about that; he was so clingy.

Emily went through another contraction, this time her voice was so loud I had to cover my ears while Jacob and the rest winced. Kim’s werent as sensitive, but she still bit into her lip.

“Push,” the doctor urged, and soon enough it was over.

It was a boy, who Emily and Sam named Gabriel Joshua Uley. He was such a tiny thing, with his momma’s nose and mouth, and daddy’s hair and eyes and both of their complextions.

He was adorable, but Anthony was cuter. Part of it was because he was my own son, but the other was because he was part Jacob. Maybe I was being opinionated, but it wasnt like I was speaking out. “Next generation Beta,” Jacob muttered in my ear; I elbowed him in the ribs.

Is that really all these boys can think about?

“Your turn next,” I teased Rachel, when I was sure Jake was listening. Paul paled and Jacob growled, “Over my dead body,” he said stiffly, Sam chuckled, rocking his son in his arms while Emily lounged lazily on her hospital bed.

We chatted for a few more minutes, before we were certain Emily was okay, and that everything was all taken care of, before most of us left her to her rest. Jake and I drove home in the Rabbit, since his Alfa was too conspicuous for forks, and Quil was inside with the kids. Claire squealed and rushed over to me and I scooped her up and ruffled her hair.

“Hey Claire-Bear,” I sang, Jake collapsed down beside Quil and Anthony crawled into his lap while he gave him a report.

More days passed in blurs, and things were becoming intense.

Alice and Bree had taken care of everything before-hand, but now there was nothing left for them to do but worry and hope that the rest of us could keep up with them. Edward and Bella had flown in with Seth and Nessie this morning, and I had spent the afternoon with them while I contemplated the coming horror.

Tonight was my last night with Jake, cause tomorrow he was staying at his dad’s, and all the guys were getting ready at K-9’s the day after.

“I cant believe I let you talk me into this,” I mumbled to him, while his head was buried in my neck and his hands gripped my waist under the blanket.

“Having second thoughts?” he mumbled biting me sofly. I shook my head, “No, I love you, I guess if this is what I have to do to prove it I can deal, but I’m not good with crowds.”

“Mmm,” he mumbled, flipping, so he was on top of me. “You can prove it now,” he purred “I don’t see any crowds.” He added; I pushed him lightly, rolling my eyes and pouting. “Your awfully horny for someone who just sucked me into marriage,” I said skeptically.

He rolled his eyes, too, ignoring my sarcasm. “I am not sucking you into anything, you never had to agree to this.” He muttered, trying hide how he'd been stung by my words. I saw through him though and kissed him lightly “No, I didn’t, but it’s not like I could’ve said no either way.”

He frowned, and I pecked his lips again, feeling bad.

“It’s not too late to call it off,” he hedged, I laughed at his low-confidence, pushing him a little harder to make him lie next to me once again. “Shut up Jacob, I love you, I told you I’d marry you and I’m not backing out.”

More silence from him, and I felt guilty. He shouldn't have been effected like this.

I crawled into his arms, planting kisses along his jaw when it looked like he was taking another hit off his self esteem. I didn’t expect him to take it this hard in the first place, and I was now willing to do whatever it took to make him see how much I wanted him.

“Did I hurt your feelings?” I mumbled; he scowled into space.

“It doesn’t matter,” he said, gruffly now. I stared at him for a while, until the hard mask he’d been wearing cracked and he winced. I frowned, “I’m sorry baby.” I whispered, tracing the planes of his chest.

“I don’t care,” he defended, not looking at me.

“Can I make it up to you,” I begged, forcing him to look at me.

His arm finally tightened around me, and he rested his chin on my head, so he could hide his face.

“Maybe,” he aloud, “If you kiss me again, and you tell me what an amazing sex god you think I am,” he added, cracking a smile. I pulled myself up to him and kissed him, running my tongue through his mouth and playing with his hair.

He grunted, kissing me back harshly until he flipped me over again. I pulled away, smirking and panting while he held onto my waist and calf with each hand.

“You’re an amazing sex god,” I purred in his ear. He laughed out loud, pulling me closer while I embraced the warmth radiating off of him. “Damn right,” he muttered back.

I ignored him, feeling tiredness crash over me as the clouds swirled around outside, letting faint rays of moonlight leak in occasionally; it was shrinking again.

“Sleep Cent, we’ve got a long few days coming,” Jake murmured in my ear. I nodded and leaned against his chest, yawning while his grip traveled to hold my stomach and my body curved against his.

“Night Jake,” I sighed dreamily, while he kissed my forehead.

“Goodnight Centhua,” he replied.

Jacob’s POV (next morning)

“I’m not even sure I want a bachelor party,” I mumbled to Centhua when Emily, Rachel and Kim laid down the rules.

Gabriel, Claire, and Anthony were with Esme and Carlisle and Centhua and I had to separate. We were at our house, along with everyone else.

Saying I missed her already, would be an understatement at this point.

Kim, Leah, Emily, Rosalie and Rachel obviously weren’t trusting enough of us guys’ to believe we weren’t really going out and had been drilling us for the last twenty minutes.

The vampire girls were easier (Except for Rosalie obviously, who had taken it upon herself to threaten our lives as far as Emmett was concerned), and Centhua was too because Edward, Jasper, and I, were off the hook. I counted my lucky stars for that.

I swear sometimes there is no way I deserved her.

Sam, Paul, Jared and K-9 nodded at their girls, reassuring them that we were only having a bonfire and Crusher and the rest pretended to be disappointing. I rolled my eyes at them.

Soon, they were finished though, and kicked us out so they could start their own celebration. I kissed Cent quickly goodbye before Alice whacked me in the head.

Well, I thought I’d been quick anyways. Grinning, I stole another kiss to irritate Alice before following my friends outside.

Centhua’s POV

Jake and the guys left around four and I turned to the girls expectantly. Bella and Kim giggled at me and I stuck my tongue at them. Alice clapped her hands to get our attention.

“Okay, the guys are gone, get ready, we’re going out.” She said as Bree suddenly produced a bag of clothes from behind her. I hadn't noticed she left but apparently she had gone to the car.

“Now I’m scared,” I muttered as Bree grabbed me and Leah, Emily, Rachel and Kim walked off with Alice, Bella and Rosalie to go get ready with the clothes they brought as well. Bree shut the door to my room and we picked out an outfit for me to wear while she did my hair.

“Where are we going,” I grumbled for the fifth time. She wasn’t answering me, and had her lips sealed shut, but then Bella came in and saved me. “It’s a surprise,” she said smiling.

I scowled, taking in her outfit and the one Bree and I choose and trying to decide what we would need them for.

Bella had on a pair of black heel boots, a dark blue ripped shirt and blue jeans with designer names on them. Bree was dressed similarly with a green sleeveless top and red short shorts to go with green and red flats. A red headband in her hair gave her a sorta innocent look in contrast to her cherry earrings.

I put on a pair of black skinny jeans and a read Multi Ruched tank top with red heels and a black knitted hat that was almost a beanie. Bree parted my hair to the side and we walked downstairs to meet the others.

Rachel was in a purple, black and white v-neck shirt with white skinny jeans, and purple pumps. All her accessories were zebra print. Kim was in a white mini dress with high heels and had on a white hat similar to mine with a pair of blue earrings and matching jewelry. Rosalie was in a blue sparkled mini dress, with silver heels and accessories. Leah was in a black beaded tank top and jean shorts along with black gloves and boots. Her accessories were all gold. Emily was the least flashy, in only a pair of ripped jeans and a orange one-shoulder top with silver accessories. It was still a jump up for her though.

“Okay, now I’m really scared,” I said, causing most of them to laugh.

We all were ushered outside and somehow managed to squeeze into my Hummer while Rosalie drove us towards Port Angeles. We blasted music the whole way, singing and laughing and teasing to pass the time during the long drive.

We got to our destination around eight, after all the preparation and traffic, which I discover to be a club. Alice and Rose jumped out as the rest of us followed.

“Dancing?” I asked, causing them to nod, giggling and glide towards the entrance.

No one carded us, and we all crammed inside the club to see flashing lights and sure enough, LOTS of dancing people. “No drinking,” Alice scolded me, shouting in my ear, before letting me go off on my own.

I rolled my eyes at her; I hadn't wanted a party any more than Jacob had.

We danced for hours anyways, Kim, Bree, Alice and me doing all the fast dances while some of the others would jump in for a while and then sit down. Emily even danced alittle, although most of her time was spent sitting. Rachel was like her, but she didn’t dance at all.

Bella, who had no excuse anymore about being clumsy was forced to dance too. Rosalie danced away from us, attracting large amounts of guys and making me glare at her for getting at Emmett.

All in all, it was a fun night and it was nearly one when we got home.

I changed into a pair of pajamas and the girls did the same, except for the vamps who stayed up talking while Leah and I slept in my room, her on the couch and me on the bed, and Emily and Kim slept in the guest room with Emily on the actual bed and Kim on the pull out. Rachel was in the living room, on the couch and already out.

I fell asleep quickly, dreaming of Jake.

Jacob’s POV

The guys and I sat around the fire, just joking and laughing and eating while the hours dragged.

It was a surprise to have the Cullen’s here, to be considered some of the guys, but they were just as comfortable around us as we were around them now.

I was laying on my back after eating my 14th hotdog and a few stars peaked out of the clouds. I wondered what Centhua was doing, and if she was getting herself into trouble, despite what I thought earlier about trusting her.

Edward chuckled and I looked up to see him above me on a log. “Relax Jacob, Alice is taking her and the rest of the girls dancing, they cant get into much.”

I grinned at him, while Seth and them ran over to us, soaking wet. He, Collin and Brady had all gone night swimming as the beach cleared out with the setting sun. Crazies.

“Yo, pass me a towel!” he shouted to me, I chucked it at his head while he sat next to Emmett, who was arguing with Paul about football.

Sam and Quil were in a similar position to me, although Quil had just eaten to much and Jared was chugging a soda. Jasper was just…Jasper. Off by himself and not really smiling too much.

Crusher, Embry, and Ammo, were wrestling and Damien was sulking about his little sister. K-9 really wasn’t helping by teasing me constantly, or shooting innuendos my way now and then. I was surprised actually that Edward hadn't taken him out yet, seeing as Centhua was almost his little sister too.

“Getting close” he said, and I groaned. “C’mon Cullen stay out of my head.” I muttered, but Edward only grinned, “Sorry, but it’s more interesting than anyone else’s who’s here right now.”

I rolled my eyes. “Thanks, I think.”

K-9 laughed, “I’m telling Bella and Centhua you two were flirting,” he said. Damien clapped him on the shoulder, back to his old self. “Do it, and I’ll tell Leah about what happened when you and Ammo went to Vegas last year.” He threatened darkly. K-9 narrowed his eyes at him, at the same time six people asked “What happened?”

He was about to respond when K-9 tackled and pummeled him.The little charade there didn’t really leave room for imagination and I wasn’t the only one laughing now.

Banters like this continued until late, where we all went our separate ways and the guys dropped me off at my dad’s.

I thought about how once it would’ve been considered home but now my home was with Centhua. And even with that knowledge I couldn’t wrap my head around the thought that I was marrying her tomorrow.

God, I was marrying her tomorrow.

My stomach did somersaults just thinking about it.

Lying in my bed that was now Rachel’s, I ignored that and tried to sleep. My mind kept wandering back to Centhua though, and Anthony, and the conversation that we’d had last night.

She obviously was just teasing, but sometimes it did feel like I was sucking her into marriage. That’s how imprinting worked, making you feel guilty for no reason you can name and conscious about everything you did.

Imprinting made everyone one of the crazies, and love kept you up at night.
