Will You Be There To Carry Me Home

Thirteen

“We need to help Kaly.”

“How?”

“A Spa day?”

“Spending the whole day with her?”

“Getting Jacey and Emma and Jordan to come on the tour?”

I slowly opened my eyes, I yawned. I was in Jack’s arms.

“Good morning.” I said quietly.

“Morning Kals.” Jack said.

“How are you feeling?” Matt asked. I shrugged.

“I’m cold.” I said. Rian tossed me a cover and Jack caught it, then covered us with it.

“Thanks.” I said.

“No problem.” Rian said opening the mini-fridge.

“What time is it?” I asked.

“Noon.” Zack said. I nodded.

I opened my eyes to find myself back in my room. I sat up quickly. Why am I in my room? I screamed. Within seconds, my door flung open and ricocheted off my wall.

“What’s wrong?” Jack asked in a panic.

“Why are we home?!” I screamed.

“Baltimore concert and we have the week off. Remember?” I shook my head. He muttered something.

“Alex! She doesn’t remember!” Jack screamed shaking his head.

“Fuck!” What didn’t I remember?

“Jack, what did I forget?” I asked. Jack walked over to my bed and sat down.

“Kaly, baby. Where were we yesterday?” He asked sitting next to me. He called me baby..awe. My heart jumped.

“In a tour bus.” I said.

“What venue did we two nights ago?” He asked. I looked up. Um…

“DC?” I asked. He looked at me. Wide eyed. He smiled.

“Good, you remember that.” I nodded.
“What happened there?”

“Something bad.” I said vaguely. The events were blurry. A bra being thrown at me. A bottle being thrown. Slow motion.

“Do you know what caused it?” Jack asked taking me hands. I thought back and closed my eyes. I sang the first verse. I scanned the crowd and I saw someone smirking at me, then a glass bottle aimed at my face.

I shook my head, trying to get out of the memory.

“No. Jack, he’s here. Here. He’s in the crowd. Alex!” I screamed.

“It’s just me and you. There is no crowd Kaly.” Jack said shaking me slightly. I opened my eyes.

“He was there. He through the bottle at me.” I said, everything coming back. I sobbed.

“Don’t cry. Who is he?” Jack asked pulling me close to him.

“Hunter.” I said, Jack tensed up.

“I have to go talk to Alex.” Jack said getting up and leaving me alone. Alone in my nightmare that people know as reality. I grabbed my pillow and screamed into it. My screams turned into sobs and I turned on my iPod to drown out the guys.

Sobs turned into hiccups.

Hiccups turned into tears.

Tears turned into sleep.

Peaceful sleep turned into nightmares.
