Diary entry of Daniel Fisher:
The appearance of the murderer gave him the name, ‘medico della peste.’ This translates as the plague doctor. The mask which the criminal wore would have been used by the doctors in Italy when the plague came about. The mask was essentially a gasmask. I wasn’t under the impression that this guy used the mask for a specific purpose. I think the plague doctor simply used it to create an image. I had no doubt that we would catch him, but at what cost? How many more people would die by his hand?
