Max’s POV

“Where’s Lily?” I asked Robert when I noticed she wasn’t in her room.

Robert looked up at me.

“She’s hanging out with Luke,” he went back to whatever he was doing.

“What? You let Luke just take her?” I asked shocked.

“He’s her father Max,” he sighed like he couldn’t do much about it.

“No, you’re her father.”

“Well according to the law he is.”

“Since when do you give a shit about the law?!”

He sighed.

“When it comes to Lily I want to do everything right,” I began to become frustrated.

“I can’t believe you just trusted him to take her,” I hissed. “I don’t trust that guy Robert. She didn’t tell us about him for a reason, God knows what he could’ve done to her, what he still could do.”

“Don’t you think I know that?!” He finally cracked.

“I wanna punch that guy’s face in for everything he might have done but the bottom line is he has me by the balls because he controls what happens to Lily, as much as I hate it I’ve got to do what he asks until he signs her over.” He looked close to tears and I sighed before just walking away.
