Teach Me The Song

"Mom?!" I yelled on my way down to the kitchen.

"Yeah, honey?"

"Will you please not let Jasey call me anymore?" I asked. "I really don't want to talk to her right now. I'm going through a lot of shit right now."

"Alexander." She sighed heavily. "Why must you act like that?"

"Mom, please. Just, don't, okay?"

She nodded.

"Where are you going?"

"To go pick up Lexi." I told her. "And I was suppose to be there five minutes ago."

"Then go! Goodness boy, you have a little girl to go get."

I nodded, and then I went to my car. I drove quickly to pick up Lexi, excited that I get to actually bring her to my house.

I got to Aly's house, and I practically ran toward her door. I knocked loudly, and waited until she came to the door. When she opened it, she looked like she had been crying.

"Alex, what are you doing here?" Aly asked me.

"I-um...Lexi."

"It's not your weekend," She mumbled.

"What do you mean, of course it is." I argued.

Aly rolled her eyes, and moved so that I could come in. I went straight to her calender that showed when I got Lexi.

"See."

"Dammit!" I sighed heavily. "I guess I just forgot. I've been stressed with a lot lately."

"Like?" She asked me carefully.

"We're in the process of switching record labels."

"What about Emerald Moon?" She asked.

"We got picked up by Hopeless." He smiled slightly. "The guys and I are really excited."

"That's great." A smile actually came to her face.

I missed her smile.

"Thanks, Alyson. That means a lot coming from you." I didn't dare to call her Aly.

I could see her heart break when I didn't call her Aly.

"Do you, wanna like stay for a while?" Aly stuttered.

I hesitated.

"I...um...yeah. Sure." I nodded, not entirely sure why I said yes. "But wouldn't..uh..your boyfriend mind?"

"Alex, Jack doesn't care." Aly laughed softly. "He's your best friend, he'll understand."

"I'm sure." I mumbled. "Where's Lex?"

"She's over at my moms for a little while." She replied. "She still doesn't talk to me, by the way."

"Why not?" I furrowed my brows. "You would think that someone couldn't hold a grudge that long.."

"You sure seem to be able too." Aly muttered.

"I don't hold grudges, Aly." I slipped.

"Then why are you not talking to me anymore?"

"I...I just don't know, Aly. I was hurt."

"Like I said before, it doesn't feel good does it?" She asked me.

"No, it doesn't. I wrote a song for you, Aly. And it's a hateful one. We're playing and I want you to be there to hear it."

"Why can't you just sing it for me now?"

"Do you still have you're guitar?"

"Yeah." She nodded.

I had just noticed that she dyed her hair a darker color.

"Your hair looks great, by the way."

"Um...thanks." She blushed.

I enjoy this side of Aly, the quiet but switchblade attitude side. She sat down on her couch after grabbing the guitar. I sat down on the couch beside her with the guitar in my lap.

Lipstick has a way of leaving more than just a mark on my sheets,

coloring my senses cherry red; at least for this week...

Kisses under starry night skies, talked about in song,

we play along, so bitter sweet by our design.

I'm sick and tired of writing songs about you,

This is it, this is the end...

Take off your makeup and put down the camera,

choke on the drama that makes me want to,

tear up the pictures, the pages you've saved,

creating a life of trends and make believe...

I've got no place in my heart for a criminal like you to dwell,

in this endeavor, make this last forever...

I'm just delirious,

You can't be serious,

You're so infamous for leaving me a mess...

Take off your makeup, put down the camera,

choke on the drama that makes me want to,

tear up the pictures and pages you've saved,

creating a life of trends and make believe...

She gets what she wants and she breaks what she gets,

get out while you can or she'll tear you to pieces

"Are you having a good time sweetheart?"

Take off your makeup, put down the camera,

choke on the drama that makes me want to,

tear up the pictures and pages you've saved,

creating a life of trends and make believe...

Carry on home,

I'll be waiting miles and miles away,

leaving you to be forever seventeen,

cleaning up the messes that you've made.

I sang the entire song to her, earing a few tears to cascade down her cheeks.

"You felt that way about me?" She asked.

I didn't want to, but I had to be honest with her.

"Yeah, I did..." I admitted.

"Can you teach me?"

"Sure." I smiled, actually glad that we could bond without fighting.

Yes, it's short and odd... slightly a filler! :D
