I Know You Love Me

Dinner

The next thing I knew we were in Stratford. I had fallen asleep on the plane despite the creepy guy. I stood up quickly before anyone else and grabbed my bag out of the overhead compartment but I still had to wait about 5 minutes to get off because everyone else was standing up and taking out their bags.

My dad was standing in the airport with his arm around his barbie-like wife and I sighed.

"Hey sugar!" Janice came up and gave me hug. Her name was Janice.

"Hi," I was muffled by her quadruple D breasts.

"Hey Shaun," My dad hugged me next, a much nicer hug.

"Hey dad," I smiled at the smell of his shop and grease. That was something about my dad that I've always loved. His job. The way he smelled and dressed when he was working. He was always my hero and I admired him. That is, until he met Barbie.

We pulled up to the same old big, white house that my dad has lived in since him and mom split. This time though there were just a couple changes, including the pink and white flowers out front and the tacky pink flamingos on the lawn.

"I love what you've done with the place," I laughed and my dad narrowed his eyes at me although I could tell he was thinking the same thing. My dad never really liked feminine stuff, even it was his wife's idea.

"Go check out your room!" Janice smiled big and her bleached white teeth stuck out in contrast to her tan face. "I totally redid it." Greaaat.

She definitely redid it. My whole room looked like it was straight out of a magazine, which it probably was. This woman was clinically insane.

"Do you like it?" She squealed. Was she three?

"Yeah," I faked. "It's awesome."

"Good," My dad came in. "I was scared you wouldn't like it." and he gave me a look.

"No, I really like it." I said. "It's...fancy." and I plopped down on the memory foam mattress. I wasn't going to complain. This was a pretty tight looking room and honestly, I've always wanted a memory foam mattress. So, that was a plus.

"Hey, Shaun?" My dad said.

"Yeah?"

"Wanna go eat or something? Just you and me." That last part got to me.

"Yeah, sure." I almost started crying. I had missed my dad so much.

We went out to my favorite restaurant in all of Stratford called the Sun Room. I always loved coming here because the environment was just so warm and cozy.

"Still looks the same," I smiled.

"Yeah, I know it's your favorite place to come eat." He gave me a side hug.

We ate and talked for about two hours, no dessert though. I wasn't about to ask for it because I was grateful enough that he just took me out to eat. I was talking to my dad and out of the corner of my eye I noticed a kid with a hat pulled low on his head and sunglasses on. What a creeper I thought. Why did the weird kids have to live in Stratford? That's one reason why I didn't like coming here because there weren't a lot of fun kids to hang out with. Just creepy ones.

The boy made his way across the restaurant and sat down with two other guys that weren't exactly bad looking.

"Shaun?" My dad said. "What you looking at?"

"Oh, um," I looked back at him. "Nothing."
