"Hazel," He sighed, the short brunette tearing her eyes away from the waves, now looking up at the tall boy who stood next to her. He was still watching the sun set over the ocean.
"I hope one day, you open your eyes, and realize that people really do care about you."
Hazel chuckled, and looked down at the sand under her shoes, her long brown hair hiding her face from him.
"I don't expect anyone to, because I'm not the type to follow through on anything." Her eyes turned to the sky above her, where the blue began to fade into black. Then she looked back at him.
His brown eyes were fixed on her.
"But you already knew that, didn't you?"
