Ugly Duckling

chapter fifteen;

Conner didn't come last night.

I asked Jesse where he was.

She said, "He is sick, Brogan. Why does it matter to you?"

I gave her the finger and walked off.

Ever since the poem thing, she's been acting strange. She's still a bitch, but seems a little scared when she talks to me, now.

Like she really thinks I'd kill my step-sister.

Yeah, I have the urge to at time. But come on...

I'm not that heartless.

Bill hasn't said much about it either. He sort of gives Mom a worried glance when I come down the stairs for dinner, but other then that, he's still the same quiet, reserved step-father that I grew to love.

I liked Bill
respected him was kind to him loved him

After all, he came in and took the place of my freak of a father when times got rough.

He did it with pride and dignity, and took me into his open arms like I was his actual child
his theirs Brogan Baker

And that was something that took a lot of courage to do.

I just hope my stupid poem didn't break the trust we once had.

Speaking of trust, Mom signed the four of us up for family therapy.

Bill. Mom. Jesse. Brogan. One room. Together.

Joy.
