Seven

Nicky was only three years his brother’s senior, but to him those three years were a giant difference. Whenever the younger would complain about something, Nicky would assure him that things would be okay. Why? Because Nicky was 21 when Jamie was 17 going on 18, and Nicky had been through all these teenage turmoil’s before. Nick was always there, always around. Jamie wasn’t, not really. He was always high and lost and hungry. Somewhere during this time, these teenage years, the supposed best years of your life, Jamie stopped caring and Jamie stopped living. The problem was, as said, is that Nick was always there. And somewhere during this time, when Jamie was fucking up his life, Nick had inadvertently and un-admittedly developed a sort of brother complex.

This was obviously in neither of the two’s best interest mostly because these types of relationships turn out désir-ish and overprotective and untrusting. Mostly, anyways. But Jamie didn’t notice or care, and Nick was doing everything he could to make him.
