Chapter Three

"Mother! I am all set!"

The red haired girl called as Alice all clad in white smiled angelically.

But inside was a girl all clad in black smiling wickedly.

Her mother who was smiling fakely as she linked arms with her husband, "You look awfully white this morning, Alice."

Alice gave her a look of mock hurt and concern, "Don't I look like an angel, Mother? It was you who told me when I came unto the world that I was an angel sent from heaven."

Alice turned away as if she was hurt until she sent her a look of mockery and crossed her arms over her chest, "Besides, I am hurt that you are sending me away, Mother. I've been an awfully good girl these past years."

Her mother could have almost scoffed if she didn't held it back.

Alice climbed into the carriage and looked at them.

Her mother pretended to cry on her husband's shoulder and pretended to wipe the tears from her eyes as the carriage started moving.

That was until Alice looked out of the window and stuck her tongue out at her parents.

Her mother fainted to her husband's arms.

Then he shouted out, "You devil's child!"

But Alice shouted back,

"But I'm your child!"
