The Sun Goes Down in My Eyes
Maeve
Narrator
We entered high school in 2006. She was beautiful, I was invisible, but we were best friends through thick and thin. She was there when I didn't know what to say, when I was too numb to feel. I tried to always be there for her, but in the end it just wasn't enough. She knew she couldn't fix me. If only I knew that about her.
I'd like to think our experiences were completely normal: there were boys, parties, laughs, tears; there was success, failure, more failure, and a hell of a lot more of whatever's in between. Looking back, however, I'd say that we were discovering way too much about life for a pair of kids our age.
I've been wanting to get this off of my chest for a while now... I guess this isn't exactly her story, but it's my tribute to her through my eyes.
We knew way too much about life...
