Caged

Chapter One

Once upon a time there was a girl.

Who was beautiful as she wanted her to be,

Who was as smart as she can be,

Who was as gentle and kind as if she were candy.

Once, there was a girl who was trapped as if she was a bird in a cage.
Laughing, she said to herself, "One day, I will free myself from this cage and unto the new world."

One day, a Man clad in white, or the Keeper came in and stood in front of her.

"Who are you?" asked she;

But He did not answer.

She grabbed the bars and shook them with all her might and shouted, "Answer me! Who are you?"

Finally, He replied "I am 'he who sees everything'."

She looked at him with wide eyes and fell back.

"What are you doing here, 'he who sees everything'?"

She was on the verge of insanity and sanity.

Two opposing forces in her delicate and fragile head.

Still, He did not speak.

He only uttered one word. Home.

"What do you mean home? This cage is my home? How ridiculously stupid!" She stood up and looked at him with rage in her eyes.

"This is not home."

She stomped to the bed and sat down.

"You call this home? Look at it! It doesn't deserve to be called a home."

Tiny droplets of water fell from her eyes.

She lifted her hand slowly to touch it then she looked at the Keeper with eyes like a caged animal.

"What's this liquid?" asked she; Then she demanded, "Tell me!"

Angered by His silence, she grabbed a vase and threw it at him.

"Tell me!"

She quickly ran to him and held onto the bars of the cage. Then, as she fell down, continuous water fell from her eyes.

"I don't belong here."

He reached out His hand to comfort her but she swatted His hand and looked away.

"I don't belong here!'

Then, the Keeper began to turn around and walk.

"No!" she shrieked as she held out her hand to reach out to Him.

Suddenly, the cage door flew open.

She got on her feet and raced out as quickly as possible.

Bright lights, city lights, fresh air, green grass, clean water, and gorgeous flowers was what she expected to see.

Instead, she saw a world full of prejudice, corruption, and greed, the once clean and fresh air became dry and hot, the grass and water was now polluted with harmful liquids.

Scared, Confused, and Bewildered, she turned around frantically looking for a way out.

Her once white and clean dress became infested with bugs and insects.

But the gate was gone. Vanished into thin air. So did her safe haven.

She fell to her knees and sobbed.

Regretting what she had done.

This is what she wished for, and now she is to suffer from her wish.

Once upon a time there was a girl.

Who was curious as she would be,

Who was as wishful as she can be,

Who was as careless as she have been,

Once, there was a girl who was trapped, now set free to a world that was destroyed by the hands of humankind.
