He runs, runs like he’s never ran before. He can barely breathe, he can’t feel his heartbeat anymore but he knows he’s still alive. Just. His feet sting as they hit the ground; his eyes are watering from fear and they sting as the friction between him and the air builds up. He runs from the past, hoping to find something better in the future for him and his family. A white light is shining in the distance marking his destination. He forces himself to run quicker, faster than he thought was possible. He knows that’s where peace lies. He’s about to reach the light at the end of the tunnel, his salvation, when animal fangs clench around his calf and begin to shred his life apart and the light slowly fades away.
