The "Other Girl"

And this weekend is no different,
Except the fact that on Monday,
I’m auditioning for the play,
Which actually turned out
To be a musical,
So I really have to kick it into
Overdrive to memorize
The monologue,
And the dance,
And the song.

So when Mom asks if
Me and Aubrey want to go mini-golfing
I have to politely turn her down.
Mom looks disappointed,
And I explain,
“I’m auditioning for the musical Monday
And I have to get ready.”
Her eyes light up then,
And I can tell she’s going
To launch into a story.
Great.
