The "Other Girl"
"I was in my high school musical,"
Mom says.
“I was the uncle of the girl
The nephew was marrying
In our production of Maime.”
Aubrey and I look at each other.
“You were a guy?” we ask.
“It was an all girls school,”
Mom says, shrugging.
“Someone had to play the part,
And I was the only person left.”
Mom says something else,
But Aubrey and I are too busy
Rolling on my bed,
Laughing so hard our sides hurt.
