Unexpected Plans

My Own Personal Safe haven

I walked along the sidewalk, passing all the other houses in our suburban neighborhood. All were just as nice as ours, we lived in a very nice upper-middle class neighborhood. I took walks with Paris almost every night, this had been our routine for nearly two months now.  I rather enjoyed our walks, they gave me time to relax and just think about everything. It was my time to let everything sink in, keeping me from completely losing my mind.

"Hello Elizabeth," a strange male voice called from behind me, making me immediately whip around to face the one intruding on solitude. He had red eyes just like Adar and even had a similar jaw line and almost the same hair style.

"And who are you?" I questioned, almost fearing the answer but I wasn't sure why I feared it, it was just a gut feeling.

"I see my darling brother still hasn't properly introduced me." He chuckled. "I'm Damian, and you're my new sister-in-law. I think it would be great for the both of us if we could sit down and talk, doll face."

"No, now get the hell away from me and stay away." I snarled at him, Paris getting in between us and growling at Damian. "Good girl," I smiled at Paris.

"Ah, a hell hound as a pet, interesting choice. And sorry but showing me your teeth won't make me go away. And now it's time that we had a chat." He said, advancing towards me. Out of sheer fight or flight response, I grabbed Paris and quickly teleported to Amy's house.

"What the hell?" Amy's mother shrieked, dropping a plate and it shattered the instant it hit the floor.

"I'm sorry for just popping in like this, Damian showed up when I was walking Paris and this was the first place I thought of to go to." I explained, holding back a sob as I sat down on the couch.

"Oh honey, it's okay. You know you can always come here anytime, no matter what." Amy's mom said comfortingly while reassuringly patting me on the back.

"Thank you Momma Ann," I smiled at her. Just then my phone rang, I pulled it out of my pocket to see Adar's name flashing across the screen. "Hello baby," I said as soon as I answered the phone.

"Where are you?! Damian just came up to the front door! Are you okay?" He practically screamed into the phone, his voice full of worry.

"I'm at Amy's, I went here because I ran into him. I'm fine," I said soothingly.

"I'll be right there, don't move!" He barked before hanging up.

"Well he sounds like he truly cares for you honey," Momma Ann gushed as she hugged me close. "Now why don't we go ahead and have a look at how your baby is doing once Adar gets here?"

"That would be great Momma Ann, I really would like to know how it's doing."
