Emily Grey, is a 14 year old girl who has a obsession with a band called Lady Godiva's Operation.

Althogh the band is still nothing but five bored kids with guitars who she knows from school, she see's them as her calling in life. Her parents, who control most of her life, do not approve of her obsession with these misfits and their loud songs about hate and rebellion, but these are the two things in the world Emily wishes she could do.

Emily herself is a misfit due to her interest in books and her square dress sense. She dreams of escaping her town and the ridecule of school and becoming a writer.
She wants to be free from the clutches of her pushy family and be with the one she loves the most...
