My Eyes Don't Decieve

It was a week since the hospital incident, and honestly? I haven't gotten over it. Nikki was weaker than ever. I could tell. She wasn't her happy go, lucky, self anymore. She was this depressed little angel lost in this cruel world. Might I add, she named that stupid mutt Biscuit. And those two were inseparable. Like they were destined to be 'dog and owner'. Sometimes I honestly forget that women always think that they are right and men are wrong. I should have agreed with her instead of calling her out on it like any other guy would. But that's not how I am...and look where that leads me to? Alone!

Nikki walked down the stairs. I heard her heels clicking roughly against the wooden steps. She looked gorgeous in her new outfit. Biscuit followed behind her, looking at me for a second before running towards her bed and grabbing a leash, "Your such a good girl!" Nikki said kissing the top of the dogs head. I scoffed softly.

"Hey where are you going?" I asked making small talk, "Out." She responded, not interested in hearing my voice at all, "Out where?" She looked over at me, "For a walk." I jumped up, inviting myself as I smiled broadly, "I'll go with." She stopped me, "I don't think its-" I grabbed my jacket, "Come on, we need to talk anyway." I said softly. She nodded and opened the door, walking out.

It was late in the evening and the sun was setting, it was about seven and the environment made it seem so romantic between Nikki and I, "Look...I'm sorry about acting the way I acted. I didn't mean it. I just...it's hard to believe." She shook her head as the wind picked up, "Well it's hard to believe that you met a guy who could stop bullets." I bit my tongue in frustration, "See that's why I kind of didn't believe you. So you know what it feels like." She glared at me, "Well that's not fair because you could have had a chance to at least listen to me." I objected, "Well I did."

She laughed bitterly, "Um, no you didn't. You were probably thinking, "Oh hey, since Nikki didn't believe my encounter I won't believe hers." Right?" Damn she's good. And I was clearly honest with her, "Yea." She shook her head as the dog whimpered, "I don't see why all of a sudden this relationship has gotten so difficult." She complained, "Maybe your making it that way." I said through gritted teeth, "And now your pointing the finger at me!" She shouted, the streets bare and clear.

"Oh stop it Nikki, you know what? Forget it, just forget it alright." I put my hands up in surrender, "I'm tired of fighting you." She huffed and pulled Biscuit's leash, "Fine, come on Biscuit, let's go see if that pet store down the street is open okay?" She pushed past me and crossed the street. I turned away huffing in rage when I heard a car screech.

I shot my eyes over and saw a car inches away from Nikki, "No!" I shouted but it was too late. Biscuit shot away from it's leash and I saw a blue ray unfold around itself and Nikki, but it faded as the car plowed into her. She hit the windshield and it broke immediately. Her limp body rolled over the top and she fell to the asphalt writhing in pain as the drunk driver pulled away.

My legs were numb as I slowly walked over to her in shock. I barely passed the curb when she stood up. The sight of her head cut open...and all the blood pouring out was like water from a hose. It made my stomach lurch forward. Her right leg was broken, the bone sticking out and her ribs were cracked. She winced in pain, not screaming, not crying, in pain.

"Ni...Nikki?" I asked.

My eyes widened when the gash on her head healed by itself, it was like nothing ever happened to it, beautiful skin and hair as before. She looked down at her ribs that stuck out and her hand lifted up to catch one and shove it back in. Cracks and crunches were all I heard. The dog sat there, looking up, watching with wide curious eyes. My head spun, like I just lost my mind. Right as all the ribs were shoved back into their rightful place, the flesh around her gaping hole of punctured wounds turned back into pale beautiful skin.

She closed her beautiful eyes and cracked her leg back into place, shrieking in pain as I stood there watching. She extended her leg and shoved the bone back into place, tears streaking down her face as the pain resided. The broken bone cracked back into it's proper position and the blood vanished immediately. She looked at herself just as stunned as I was before her eyes lifted up to meet mine. Her clothes ripped and bloodied.

She stepped towards me, "Taylor I-" I stumbled back, tripping back over the curb, "No...no no no no no no! You stay away from me!" She gasped at my words. Biscuit jumped to his four legs and growled as I hurt her with my cruelness, "What? But-" I cut her off again, "You freak! Get away!" She ran towards me and grabbed my arm. I couldn't even think of it touching me. I shoved her back, away from me.

I turned away and literally ran. Ran back home, "Taylor please!" She shrieked. I slammed the door once I got in, sweating and freaking out, my whole body shaking as I threw myself up the steps. I grabbed a suitcase and started packing my things. I turned around and looked towards the doorway to see her, that thing, standing there watching me, "Taylor please! Where are you going!?" She shouted at me, "Away, as far away as I can from you!" I shouted back as Biscuit watched whimpering.

"But we love each other! I can explain please!" She cried hard, "No...not anymore." I spat, "I don't want to hear you speak at all anymore! Your sick." I grabbed my suitcase and shoved her out of the way with my shoulder as I ran down the steps. I opened the door and saw a van pull up in front of me. Six hooded members got out, "What the hell do you want?" I asked with wild eyes. Two red beady eyes started at me. Nikki was inside as the dog went haywire. Running outside and growling and barking before running inside towards Nikki who stared out the window, "We want...you." A demonic voice responded.

One of the hooded members shot a fist straight into my face. I fell onto my back as the suitcase fluttered out of my hands. I heard a phone click and numbers dialing, "No no sweetheart." Another demonic voice screeched, "I wouldn't do that if I were you." He spoke to Nikki through the window, "Hello Miami Police Department, how can I help you?" I heard a speaker phone ring.

Nikki opened her mouth to say something when the man pulled out a gun, along with the other members who didn't hesitate to pulling the trigger as the automatic pistols went off through the windows, "No!" I shouted as glass shattered. Biscuit whimpered and I shot to my feet and saw blood stains as Nikki faltered to the ground. I ran towards the door, skidding into the kitchen to see Nikki on the floor, eyes open, pale, dead...

A shot through the head, another through the heart and the rest following through her body. I picked her up into my hands, regretting any assumption I made and forgetting what happened with the car accident a couple minutes ago, "NO! Please wake up baby! Please!" Biscuit jumped up on me, the strong pup knocked me off of her as she growled in my face. Eyes cherry red as it curled up next to Nikki's dead body. Two rough arms grabbed me and hauled me to my feet. I punched and kicked in every direction as I was pulled towards the van, "No! Let go of me! You mother fuckers I'll kill you!" I cried as I was thrown into the back of the van.

"Master is going to love experimenting on this one." Another deep voice laughed before the door slammed closed and darkness enveloped my vision
