Never Give In

Chapter 38

Two weeks later, and I was in a different apartment, one much closer to Andy’s house. And now, Jamie and Christian were a couple. Or at least, everyone knew they would be in the near future.

“Sooo, next tour?” I asked Andy.

“I thought you hated being on the road all the time?” he said.

“That was before I learned how freaking amazing it is to be there!” I replied.

He shook his head. “We should have one next Fall.”

“I’m going, right?” I asked.

“Nope. Sorry,” Andy said, dead pan.

I just stared at him.

“Obviously you’re going!” he finally finished. “You are our little roadie!”

I laughed and began to daydream about the next tour.

-Next Fall-

I sat on a couch in the bus with Andy next to me.

Across the room, Jamie sat with Christian.

I already knew this would be a great tour. And I knew I would have the best people to spend it with.

Hopefully, to spend the rest of my life with.

Thinking this, I turned to Andy who was smiling at me.

“What?” I asked.

It had been a year and a half since we’d begun dating, and some things he did still completely threw me off. Like how he’d just stare at me smiling, not saying a word.

“Nothing. I just have a question,” he said.

I nodded, an indication for him to continue.

Ahsley, across the room picked up his guitar and started playing it softly.

“What the heck?” I asked.

Andy got down on one knee. My jaw dropped. Jamie, Christian, Jake, Jinxx, and Ashley were watching, huge smiles on their faces.

“Jessica Anne,” he began. “I love you more than I can ever scream.”

I smiled at that, a line from a song.

“And, in hopes that you feel the same, will you marry me?” he asked.

I nodded, wordless as he slipped the ring on my finger.

“MY LITTLE KIDS ARE GROWING UP!” Christian yelled.

I laughed and hugged Andy.

Yeah, I would have the best people to spend the rest of my life with. Friends, and a fiancée.
