How Did It Come to This?
Prologue
Blue and red lights flashed everywhere and in the background, the radio blared, “Berkley Thorpe, seventeen year old girl, brown hair, blue eyes, five months pregnant. Went missing yesterday after never coming home from school.”
A woman collapsed into the arms of a police officer, at the bad news. Her eyes were red and swollen, evidence of the last day she spent crying.
“I’m sorry ma’am.” The young police officer, said. “We’re doing everything we possibly can to find her.”
Meanwhile, a younger boy stood still, staring off into space with anger in his eyes. He wouldn’t know at that moment, but he played a key role in the disappearance of his only sibling, a key that another eight people had a piece of.
