There's a new kid
in my class.
"Oh my god,"
she whispers
in my ear.
"He's hot!"
but something's making me scared,
something so eerily familiar.
I ignore it
and listen as the teacher
introduces him,
"This is Evan Lulah.
Would you like to
tell us about
yourself, Evan?"
He looks reluctant but begins to talk.
His voice washes over me,
like a river washing over rocks.
His dirty blonde hair falls over his face;
cccccsomeone needs a haircut
as he tells us that his family's been
travelling and decided to settle
down here.

Eve whispers,
"but I do like
his first name."
