Invisible
Nothing, right?
In the morning
he joins me at the table
acting as though
nothing ever happened.
Like
I never
heard
those
screams.
But he doesn't notice me
for I am invisible.
He passes me
says nothing
and I leave the room.
Pausing besides my sister's room,
I press my hand to the door
wondering
what it would be like
if we were a normal
family.
I guess I'll never know.
I can always dream,
wonder,
read books about it,
hear stories,
see photos
of other normal families
but it's not the same.
I drop my hand and walk away.
he joins me at the table
acting as though
nothing ever happened.
Like
I never
heard
those
screams.
But he doesn't notice me
for I am invisible.
He passes me
says nothing
and I leave the room.
Pausing besides my sister's room,
I press my hand to the door
wondering
what it would be like
if we were a normal
family.
I guess I'll never know.
I can always dream,
