The Worst for You

“You knew she was going to be here,” Nick accused.

“Yes.”

“And you didn’t tell me.”

“I couldn’t,” she whispered, referring to how adamant Tyler was about not seeing her former best friend.

Tyler was the girl who had never had a real relationship. Never had a boyfriend in the typical sense of the word. Yet, she was far from the never-been-kissed status of many girls. Tyler was a charmer. She had every member of the male population wrapped around her finger, while every girl hated her existence. At least that’s what she let herself believe.

Maybe that’s why her only friend was a guy. Nick considered Tyler as not only his best friend, but also the girl of his dreams. Not that Tyler could see that. She used him just like every other male in her life.

Until her father kicked her out. He sent her to live with a woman she couldn't remember ever knowing. A woman she only knew from photographs and stories that her grandparents would tell. But she found more than just a long-lost mother; she found a family.
