Hear Me

He says my name softly.

My eyes sting from un-shed tears.

He says he's sorry.

But I'm still so afraid.

He said it was a joke.

I need to hurt him, just like he's hurt me.

I whip around and then I'm screaming at him.

I'm standing in the middle of the street, in the middle of the night, screaming at Stephen

I ask him if he really thought that his stunt was funny.

Because it wasn't

I scream that he's an asshole and that I never want to talk to him again.

But he should already know this by now.

I yell at him to get the fuck away from me.

Leave me alone forever.

And then it's over, and I'm standing there sobbing.
