Don't Look Back

1/1

I stay mostly rigid in the same spot. People they stare, I brush their glances off. It's normal and familiar but only just. I hear the door swing its way open; gathering fresh cold wind and noisy individuals. They look, I feel their eyes burn into me; a stare so harsh.

I finally decide to move. I'm alone in this corridor. People carelessly crash into me without even a solid murmur of an apology. I hear them whisper words of unimportant stupidity. I continue my steps gliding graceful and swift like ballet. My swift glides ceases as I see your face but half.

You're making words I cannot hear to a person much of dislike to me. I stare with emotion gathered on my face. I'm wide eyed and so speechless. You look my way, just a glance no smile of recognition.

Best friend come back. Best friends forever, replace with never.

The next month arrives. I'm still alone but I'm different. I see you with that person. I look at you with no emotion. No sense of recognition. You look at me the same, we're strangers now. I turn away, it's time to move onwards.
