Quasi una Fantasia

Part 4

That night we drank wine until it pooled around our mouths like blood, and said that we could live forever.

Laughing at the irony of our misfortune, it felt as though we would never die.

My second star to the right gave us a prophecy, two souls at the mercy of night.

We had a kiss of ecstasy, temperature rising, and we owned the night. We were together, forever, hearts pumping, never ending, drunk on the moon, high on love, forgetting humanity.

At least, I did. I ask nothing more than forgiveness.

We’re still children of twilight owning the night.
