In Love

Gerard climbed in the tour bus and plopped down on the couch that Frank was sitting on. He smiled at the younger man. “Why are you sitting here all along Frankie? All the other guys have gone out to the local bar.”

Frank shrugged his shoulders. “I just didn’t feel like it.”

Gerard ruffled up Frank’s hair. “Ah, you can’t even take one sip before the alcohol runs through your little body. I wish I could say the same for myself, but of course you know I can’t.”

Frank frowned. “Don’t say that Gerard. There’s no need to bring the past up, especially bad memories.”

“What about the good memories?”

“What about them?”

“Don’t you miss them?”

“Don’t you miss us?”

Gerard’s heart tugged at the last four words that came out of Frank’s mouth. Those words had been at the very tip of his tongue also, but he was too scared to say anything. Instead, he just let his laid his head in the crook of Frank’s neck.

“Remember when we were teenagers in love?”

“Now we’re just adults in love.”
