Let's Get This Party Started

Seven.Seven.Seven.

Alex’s POV:
I stared at Jack for a moment, unsure whether he was mad at me or not, but he seemed remotely calm, besides he leaned in more than I did. Did that mean he liked me too? It had to, but I was afraid to ask, because he if hadn’t and he had, for some reason, felt obligated to, which I don’t know why he would, and didn’t really like me.
I decided not to bring it up at all, I just smiled slightly and spoke up.
“So man, want to play some Call of Duty or something? I can call Zack or Rian.”
“Eh, Why don’t we just play?” He said, smirking. That meant something right?
We played for about a half hour and we got bored. He brought up going to the bike path, and walk by the water.
“Okay.”
“Alright, Let me get ready, and I’ll meet you in the living room in five.”
I went upstairs, and wait for Jack, while thinking about the kiss. It was barely considered a kiss. It wasn’t that long of a kiss, and besides, we didn’t bring it up again. He didn’t and I sure as hell wasn’t going to. I stopped thinking when I heard Jack’s familiar footsteps down the stairs. He looked magnificent. He wore a pair of basketball shorts, and a blink-182 shirt. He also has on his black Nikes. His hair was perfectly messy. I couldn’t help but smile.
“Ready man?”
“Yeah.” I said, and I built the courage to say, “But we need to talk first about you know what.”
“Why do you think we’re going for a walk?” He smiled.
~~~~~
“So, about that.” I said trailing off.
“Well, Alex. We can’t avoid the fact that it happened. I don’t regret it to be honest. I’ve kinda wanted to kiss for a little while now.”
I looked at him, he wasn’t looking at me, he was looking straight ahead of him. It was my turn to be honest.
“Well, since we’re being honest, I kinda wanted to do, well that, too.”
He chuckled, “Alex, you can call it a kiss. People say the term all the time.”
I blushed, he was right. But I wasn’t sure if I felt right saying it.
“I know, but no, I didn’t regret it either. At least we’re on the same page.”
He nodded, leaving me to keep the conversation going.
“What now?”
“Well, what do you want to do?” He asked, looking over at me.
“Try it out? Maybe?” I hesitated.
“Sure, well, if you want to at least.”
“Yeah.” I said smiling, “I’d like that.”
The rest of our walk was pretty quit except for a small conversation here and there. I was happy. I had a chance, with Jack Barakat.
“Hey Jack?” I started.
“Yeah?”
“I’m really happy we’re doing this, I mean, if it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t, but I don’t think I could live knowing I never followed my heart.”
“Me too, Lex. Me too.”
He’d never called me Lex before. No one had, but I couldn’t help but smile to the name. I liked it. I liked the name a lot.
