A Disappointment

Prologue

She rolled to her side staring out the window which stood there several years. It was originally a place belonging to her grandparents. It was assigned to her father after his father's death, his mother still alive but living with them.

Lily was thought as a disappointment by them two. Her mother died over two years ago, Lily still remembered her comforting gentle voice. There was barely a comforting ear in the house. Her siblings weren't much of help either.

The tears were consistent and her cries were almost mute. She twirled her hair so slightly. The sun swept in through the large window. It coloured her hair lighter, a blonde like colour.

With a business attired knock on the door, her cries ceased. She made herself like presentable as she was familiar that very knock belonged to her father. She glanced at her mirror and nodded in approval.

With that she opened the door and lightly but falsely smiled.

This was orginally a short story and extremely different. This was unplanned, yes.
