When Cheating Had Feeling

I sighed a I looked at all my friends who were laughing and having fun in the karaoke bar that someone had so brilliantly dragged everyone too. I sighed as I noticed my fiance and older sister laughing with each other at the bar, each with a drink in their hand. They didn't’t know it but I knew about them, it wasn't’t too hard to figure out, especially when Alex started mumbling her name out loud in his sleep. I took a big gulp and finished off my rum and coke before making my way to the bar to order another one. Once I had my drink in hand I walked back to my table, now occupied by Jack and my best friend Riley.

“They know that you know about them yet Charlie?” he asked me

“Nope. I have no idea what I am going to do Jack, I love him so much, and she is my sister, my best friend” I said

“I think you need to confront them about it. It is not fair to you that they are doing this. It is not right at all” Riley said glaring at my sister

“I know that trust me I do.”

“You should sing a song” Jack smiled at me

“Why?”

“Because you have a beautiful voice. Come one I will pick your song out” He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the stage, whispering to the man behind the table, before handing me the microphone “Knock them dead sweetheart” He said with a wink as he walked back to the table, I sighed before walking up to the stage

“Ladies and Gentlemen put your hands together and welcome Ms. Charlotte James!” I walked out to the empty mic stand before placing it in and clearing my throat and waited for the music to start, knowing Jack I would be singing some nameless pop song, but as the first cords rang out I shot him a glare before starting to belt out the lyrics, staring into my sisters eyes, never once taking my eyes from hers, showing her the hurt that she had caused, letting her know that I did in fact know what she was doing.

After I let the final note ring out, I hoped off stage, walked to the table, flashed Jack a smile before downing my drink and pushing my way out the door and started walking towards my house.

“Charlie! Charlie! Damn it Charlotte! Wait up!” I heard Alex yelling for me

“What Alex? What could you possibly want to say now?” I turned to glare at him

“You realize your sister is back there crying her eyes out?” He demanded

“Right, my sister is crying her eyes out. Never mind me, your fucking fiance.” I turned to leave, only to be stopped by his hand on my upper arm “Let go of me now Alex.” I demanded

“No. We are going to talk about whatever is bothering you”

“What is bothering me Alex is my fiance is fucking my sister” I spat out

“Where-Who told you that?” He demanded

“No one had to tell me Alex. I have eyes, and I have ears. I lie awake at night listening to you call her name in your sleep; I sit back and watch as you guys openly flirt with each other. I am not dumb Alex.”

“I’m sorry Charlie” He whispered

“You’re sorry? I gave you everything I could Alex! I gave you all of my love, my heart and you just didn't’t care” I screamed at him, noticing the crowd standing around, mine and Alex’s friends included

“I am sorry. I just, and Jolene was, and it happened and I am truly sorry” He said, looking absolutely crushed

“Yeah so am I Alex” I said as I slipped off the engagement ring that adorned my left hand ring finger and slipping it into his hand “Sorry I wasn't’t good enough to be your wife” I said before a sob broke out and I turned and walked away from the only man that had ever held my heart.
