Sequel: Into The Light

Left In The Dark

Chapter 16.

“I promise, Willow Clark, I will never…ever…hurt you.” I said almost whispering as she stared at my wings.

She thought I was beautiful. She didn't run or scream. She isn't panicking or threatening to call the police or animal control. She's the first person I've ever told. Mr. Tod doesn't even know. It was just her. I actually feel better now. I feel so much better. Someone knew the real me. Someone knew who I really was. Someone wasn't out to kill me for it. You'd never know how much of a relief that was.

"Give me your hand," I whispered holding my hand out to her,"Trust me."

She blushed a little and I smiled some as she took my hand. I guided her close to me and picked her up bridal style. I didn't look at her face, I just shook my wings lightly clearing off the remaining water from them and ran a short distance then jumped into the wind keeping her close to me.

I didn't know if this qualified as a fairy tale ,but I had to admit it was unbelievable. Someone wasn't scared of what I truly was. No one was running from me. It was okay for the first time in my life and the weirdest part yet: I wasn't scared.
