You Take My Breath Away

Sleepover

When we got to Jimmy’s house, everyone was already there waiting outside for us. It was weird, considering they all blended in with the night with all the black they were wearing and we didn’t notice them until we got up to the door step.

“Holy fucking shit, guys!” Jimmy exclaimed, staring at them with wide, shocked eyes. “When the fuck did you get here?” he asked, moving around all of them to open the door.

“Well, we got here about ten minutes ago and we would’ve been inside by now but your asses had to be all slow and shit,” Matt retorted, laughing in amusement.

Kim pouted and glared playfully at Matt. “It’s not our fault I had to work overtime by ten minutes, dude!” she said, walking in ahead of everyone when Jimmy opened up the door, laughing at their complaints.

She squeaked as Jimmy grabbed her hand and started pulling her upstairs towards his room, not giving her any room to object to where he was taking her. “Guys! Start the movie and start making popcorn!” Jimmy called down to all the guys and girls as he pulled Kim into his room.

She was confused as to why he was bringing her in there and she laughed as she heard the replies he got from everyone downstairs, amused. A couple told him to shove it while the rest complained that he should be doing it, it was his house. She knew they would do it anyway, though.

“You can put your bag in here and change in the bathroom across the hall,” Jimmy told her, flopping down onto his bed and laying his hands behind his head.

Kim raised an eyebrow as she watched him in amusement. “Alright. That’s good to know. And where are we sleeping?” she asked as she set her bag on the edge of his bed and opened it, pulling out a pair of sweat pants and a tank top.

“Everyone will probably crash downstairs. I highly doubt their going to school tomorrow so… We won’t be woken up at the wee hours of the morning while they get ready like they’ve done to me in the past,” he told her with a chuckle.

Kim laughed and nodded, grinning at him. “Alright, cool. I’ll be right back,” she said, skipping out of his room and into the bathroom that was across the hall.

She closed the door behind herself and locked it, not knowing who was going to be coming in. You never knew when it came to these crazy people. She slipped out of her clothes and pulled on the sweat pants and tank top, brushing through her hair with the brush she brought.

When she was finished with everything she picked up her discarded clothes, brush, and toothbrush, walking back across the hall into Jimmy’s room. She put her stuff back in her bag and looked at Jimmy, biting down on her bottom lip.

He had changed into a pair of basketball shorts while she was gone and just left his shirt off. She guessed that was his usual bedtime attire. She looked around his room so she didn’t stare and noticed how messy it was. There were clothes strewn everywhere and stuff cluttered all over the place. It was the normal room for a teenaged boy.

Jimmy chuckled which caused Kim to snap back into reality and look at him. “What?” she asked, staring at him with wide eyes.

“It’s so cute how you’re trying not to stare,” he said, his tone laced with amusement. “You always do it when I don’t have a shirt on but I always catch you staring,” he said with a smirk.

Kim laughed nervously, biting down on her bottom lip as a blush started forming on her cheeks. She hated it when she blushed and especially when she was called out like this so she had to do something fast to get the attention off of her. “Their going to start the movie without us,” she said, starting to walk towards his door. “We should head downstairs.”

Jimmy chuckled and shook his head as he hopped off his bed and started walking after her, a grin set on his face. “Alright, let’s go see what we’re watching tonight. I think I heard the girls complaining about watching a scary movie,” he said with a chuckle.

Kim gulped nervously and smiled slightly when Jimmy grabbed her hand and laced their fingers together, smiling down at her which eased her nerves slightly. She hated scary movies with a passion and Jimmy knew that. They all did, actually. They had tried getting her to watch one with them her first week here and it worked out until the gory stuff came. Then she ran from the room, not dramatically or anything. She just wouldn’t come back in and watch the rest of the movie so Tori sat with her for the rest of the movie since she hated scary movies almost as much as her.

They got downstairs and Kim sighed in relief when she noticed it wasn’t a scary movie they were watching. “Oh, thank god,” she murmured, squeaking a bit when Jimmy sat down and pulled her down onto his lap. There were only six seats so a few girls had to suck it up and sit on the guys laps.

Kim relaxed back into Jimmy’s chest and laid her head on his shoulder, looking around at everyone. It seemed as if no one cared about that extra seat. They all opted for sitting on their significant other’s lap either way.

She smiled at Tori who was next to her and Jimmy with Matt and laughed a bit as she made a face at Matt who was talking to Brian, who was on his other side, about music. “What’s up, Kim?” Tori asked, raising an eyebrow.

Kim laughed and shrugged, poking Jimmy’s nose when he poked her side. “Nothing much, really. Just waiting for this damn movie to start,” she said a little loudly to Zacky and Gabby, who were the closest to the TV.

“Sorry!” they called at the same time which, in turn, caused everyone to laugh. Those two bickered a lot but were obviously meant for each other. And they did a lot of things at the same time. It was really cute.

Kim watched as Gabby got off Zacky’s lap and walked the couple steps to the entertainment center, leaning down to press play on the DVD player. When she pressed play, everyone made a noise of praise to her and got comfortable.

Kim smiled when Jimmy wrapped his arms around her waist and settled back into him further, getting comfortable. She laughed at the title that came up on the screen. It was the Addam’s Family. These people really had a weird taste in movies. Plus, it was one of Kim’s favorites.

Halfway into the movie, the popcorn ran out so Kim said she’d go get more and got up, not noticing that Gabby had followed her. She walked into the kitchen with the bowl and pulled a bag of popcorn out of the cabinet, putting it in the microwave.

“Hey,” Gabby said, causing Kim to jump in shock. She hadn’t noticed the girl follow her into the kitchen so it shocked her that she was in here in the first place.

“Oh, hey, Gabby,” Kim said, smiling at her. She was wondering what was wrong with her. She looked sort of down but Kim wasn’t going to say anything about it. She didn’t want to upset her more if anything was even wrong.

“How’re things with you and Jimmy going?” Gabby asked, sitting on the counter. She started kicking her feet back and forth, watching Kim closely.

Kim couldn’t help but smile at the question she asked her. Every time someone mentioned Jimmy or she saw him, she couldn’t help but smile. “Oh, things are going great. Why do you ask?”

“Oh, no reason. I was just wondering,” Gabby said, biting down on her bottom lip.

Kim nodding, showing she acknowledged the girl as the microwave beeped and opened it, pulling out the bag of popcorn. She hissed as she burned her fingers and dropped it on the counter, shaking her hand in the air. “Ow! Fuck!” she groaned.

Gabby laughed and shook her head, watching in amusement. “It’ll stop hurting in a couple minutes. It always does,” she said with a grin, hopping down off the counter.

Kim laughed and nodded. “I know,” she said, grabbing the bag of popcorn again. She opened it and poured it into the bowl, throwing the bag away before following Gabby out of the kitchen. She handed Johnny the bowl since he had his hands out for it. She felt kind of bad for him since he was the only single one but didn’t make any comments on it as she settled back down onto Jimmy’s lap.

Three movies and four bowls of popcorn later, the whole group was sprawled out across the room, asleep. Kim was laying curled up next to Jimmy with her head laying on his chest and his arms wrapped around her. She was listening to his heart beat in his chest as he held her, tracing random patterns on his stomach.

She couldn’t seem to fall asleep yet. Jimmy was knocked out and so was everyone else, or so she thought. She didn’t notice that Maddy, who was laying with Brian right next to her and Jimmy, was awake and staring at her.

“You two make a cute couple, you know,” Maddy said softly as she stared at Jimmy and Kim. Not in a creepy way, but in a way that was just watching them. Seeing how they acted around each other.

Kim jumped slightly and blinked into the darkness, looking over at Maddy. She smiled slightly and nodded a bit, biting down on her bottom lip. She was confused as to why everyone wanted to talk about her and Jimmy or were commenting on the two. “Thanks. But we’re not really a couple yet. I mean, we act like a couple but it’s not official,” she said softly, sighing. She wanted to be Jimmy’s girlfriend but he hasn’t asked her yet. She really hoped he did on their date this Friday.

Maddy smiled over at her and laughed softly. “He’s going to ask you, don’t worry,” she said, noticing the look on her face. “It takes him a while. He wants to make sure you two are going to work out before he asks you out. That’s how he’s always been.”

Kim raised an eyebrow and nodded, but didn’t comment on it. She really didn’t know what to say to that. She really wondered how Jimmy and Leslie got together if Jimmy made sure him and the girl were going to work out before he asked her out. That really made her wonder about his judgment. But she was glad she had someone to talk to about Jimmy. She knew she could talk to the girls about anything but this just set it even more into stone.

“Well, I’m going to sleep. I’ll see you in the morning,” Maddy said with a yawn, smiling over at Kim before she cuddled back up to Brian. “Goodnight, Kim.”

Kim smiled and stopped tracing patterns on Jimmy’s chest, cuddling up closer to him. “Goodnight, Maddy. And thank you,” she whispered, knowing the girl wasn’t going to respond but thanking her anyway.

She closed her eyes and slowly started drifting to sleep, thoughts of Jimmy consuming her brain. She really hoped he thought the two of them were going to work out. She really liked him and he liked her too, right? At least, it looked like he liked her. It looked like she’d just have to wait and see if he asked her out.
