York and Mori

Chapter 21- Mori

Mori:

A slight breeze blew through an open window which made Mori shiver. The room felt cold and her covers were on the floor. She opened a tired eye and saw the curtains of two open windows fluttering around in the air. The windows had shutters on them that were wide open and a nice blue sky was located behind the busy curtains.
Mori shifted her head as she heard Madam Oliver’s bell by the window. She spotted her tail just before it disappeared beyond the window.
“Madam Oliver? Where are you going?” she mumbled sitting up, “I need to feed you…”
Mori then rubbed her eyes and looked around the room. She was in a nice room with hard wood floors and textured yellow walls. Everything was nicely placed and there were nicely painted flowers that grew around the room’s yellow walls. Mori sat up in her comfortable bed and looked confused at the room. It had a Spanish flavor that wasn’t like the hotel that she remembered sleeping in.
She walked over to the window and saw fields and trees in the view. She was no longer in the city.
“How’d I get here?” she asked aloud as she turned back to her room.
There was a knock at the door and the golden knob turned. A familiar head appeared in the door. She had blonde colored hair that had an orange tint to it. Her bright blue eyes looked like they were sparkling to see that Mori was up.
“Sarah where are-”
“Oh, Dorothy! Thank goodness you’re awake!” Sarah exclaimed throwing the door open.
Mori almost died when Sarah came to hug her. She wore a huge ball gown with a crown on her head. The ball gown was huge, sparkly, and pink. Sarah hated the color pink if it wasn’t with black or green. But the entire dress was pink. Her hair even had a curly look to it.
“Sarah?!”
“Dear, why do you keep calling me such a name? I am Glinda! You should know that by now!”
“Wait, the witch?”
She gave a huge frown and motioned to her clothes in anger saying that she’s no witch. She was implying that she was a fairy of good magic and Mori couldn’t help but laugh. Sarah’s look became even madder and she took out a wand.
“Well, Miss Dorothy, I do know that you’ve been studying a lot lately for your test today, so I’ll let your tired remarks slide. But you better get to breakfast before Toto eats your breakfast again!”
She waved her wand around and Mori was suddenly in a new outfit. Her pajamas were gone and she now wore a blue knee high dress. She had red shoes on and pigtails. Her mouth hung open in shock and anger. Sarah had magic powers? Since when?! Unless she always had them and Mori didn’t know that. That would explain why she would enchant any guy that crosses her path, but then she remembered that she was just a great talker.
Mori felt her body lift up and Sarah moved her wand to the right and Mori floated out of her room into the hallway.
“I will pick up your room and gather your stuff! You better go!” she said with a perfect smile.
The door shut and Mori was left in the hallway. She saw a mirror right next to the door and almost died to see what Sarah did to her. She wasn’t in her fun artsy fashions any more, but she looked like she was five years younger. Mori growled and took out the pigtails and removed the ridiculous makeup. Mori then realized the sun pushing through the hallway. She looked behind her and saw an open courtyard.
The hallways were covered with the roof and were open to the square court yard. The Spanish look continued around her and she saw someone clipping the perfectly square hedges that dotted the green court yard. A fountain was in the middle and beautiful stone mazed its way through the hedges and trees.
“Mori!” someone called from the other side of the courtyard.
She looked up and saw York running over to her. He ran through a hedge and came to her with a shocked look.
“York! What on earth are you wearing?!
“I was going to ask you the same!”
“But your hair! It’s brown! And… did you grow three inches?”
He stood up straight and Mori looked up to him. She already did that, but he looked even taller. She couldn’t remember the last time he actually had normal colored hair. It was even styled in a nice casual way rather than before.
“I don’t understand…” he said realizing the height difference, “I just remember going to bed in the hotel and then…”
“We wake up here...”
York looked around the beautiful home that they were in confused on how they could have got there. Mori brought up the idea that maybe their parents had something to do with this. Like it was part of their birthday present.
“Though that wouldn’t explain why Sarah has magic powers…”
“Wait, Sarah is here?”
The door opened and Sarah’s puffy dress pushed through the door. She smiled brushing her hands from her cleaning. She looked up to see York and she frowned taking out her wand. She started shooing him by hitting her wand on his head.
“You will not mess up my perfectly clean room, Toto! Go get ready!”
“Who died to make you queen?” he growled at Sarah.
Mori shook her head to warn him about ticking her off, but it was too late. She waved her wand and suddenly York was gone.
“Where did you send him?!” Mori yelled once the smoke disappeared.
“Simple, to the bath where all smelly doggies should go!”
She placed a hand on Mori’s shoulder and lead her down to the kitchen for breakfast drilling her on some homework questions that Mori didn’t know the answers to.

The kitchen was beautiful and she saw Vi working like crazy in it. Vi would never ever ever ever cook. Her family was rich so her ten maids would do all her work. Sarah actually worked as a maid in a hotel, so it was reasonable for her to clean. Not so reasonable why she was cleaning Mori’s room.

Vi turned around and Mori saw her dressed like the Halloween witch costume she wore for their 8th grade Halloween party. She frowned and shook a spoon at Mori saying that her food is getting cold.
“You are lucky that Toto didn’t get here first and eat your food again!” Vi frowned.
“Okay,” Mori finally said stepping away from Sarah, “What on earth is going on? Why do you look like that you fell out of a Disney movie, and why are you cooking?!”
Sarah and Vi looked at each other strangely. Sarah then ran over to Mori and felt her head to make sure that she was feeling well. Mori slapped her hand away and growled. She pointed to Sarah and demanded to know where they were.
“You’re at the Villa? Like you have been for a year now?” Vi said resting her hands on the counter top.
“Dorothy are you sure that you’re alright?” Sarah placed her and on Mori’s head again.
Mori slapped it away and growled. She grabbed the wand that was in Sarah’s hand and waved it around. They were all suddenly in their normal clothes: Jeans and fun t-shirts. Mori couldn’t believe that actually worked, Sarah didn’t have powers, it was the wand.
“Sarah! Come on! You are the only person that I know that even if a traffic light is a second too late to change, you think its aliens or a conspiracy of the government hacking into our cellular devices! And Vi! You are touching a frying pan! You would die before even touching one of those, let alone wear something that didn’t have any ounce of color in it!”

Sarah and Vi looked at each other and then back at Mori not buying what she was saying. Sarah demanded for her to give back the wand, but Mori only backed up. Sarah’s look became angry again and Mori ran for her life away from the beast that was Sarah. Mori backed back around and slapped Vi across the face with a spatula and soon she was running after her.
Mori didn’t understand her logic, but maybe if she was able to some how wear them out, they’ll remember who they are. Mori ran for her life into the backyard. There were fields and more fields around her and the random tree and gardens at the side. Suddenly Mori saw a speck in the sky and saw Vi riding fast on a broom. She looked funny still wearing the cool clothes, but Vi finally could see the mischievous Vi coming through again.
Mori waved the magic wand and gave herself a protective suit similar to the laser tag outfit that she wore before. Vi was riding in faster and faster and Mori dodged into a hedge. She heard the broom zoom off past the hedge, but Sarah found her quickly. She demanded that Mori gave her the wand and Mori ran off into the garden she found herself in.

She ran past a statue that looked similar to Zane but she didn’t stop. She turned around a corner and there was Vi with a cannon looking thing. She mouthed that Mori was going to die and Mori smiled evilly saying that wasn’t going to happen. She waved the wand around and Vi looked down to see a laser tag suit on. She looked confused and Mori zapped her laser weapon and Vi’s suit beeped as it was hit.
“I win!”
“NO FAIR! NO FAIR! NO FAIR!!” Vi suddenly shouted out stomping her feet on the ground, “I wasn’t ready!”
Mori smiled at Vi’s reaction. Vi frowned and kicked the cannon thing in front of her saying that she wanted a rematch. Then her look changed as she looked around to where she was.
“Um… where are we? And why do I smell bacon?”
“probably because you were cooking it.”
“ I was cooking?! Kill me now please!”

Mori then was attacked from behind from Sarah demanding for Mori to give back her wand. Vi asked aloud in a bored voice what was wrong with Sarah and Mori gave her a sharp look telling Vi to help. They were able to tie up the enraged Sarah and brought her back to the kitchen. Mori wanted to know how any of this was possible, but then every single clock in the house started to go off. Saying that it was school time. York appeared in the door way to the kitchen, dressed a little nicer, asking what was going on.
Suddenly, Sarah then grabbed the wand and her evil angry look came back. She waved it around and transported York and Mori to the garage which was converted into a barn. We could hear her voice call out to York saying that he better get them to school on time. Mori was scared for Vi, for being stuck in the same place as the crazed Sarah, but she knew that Vi could take care of herself. Mori turned to York and gave a long sigh.
“So… do you know how to ride a horse?”
